Audi owners in here!

I'll be honest, if im going for another 'prestige' brand in future, it will have to have the trimmings and the right engine, doing posh cars on a budget isnt the way to go, do it right do it properly. Unless someone else is paying for it, buying a new car is financially never the best idea imo, but thats an argument for another day.

Anyone here drive/have driven an A6 C7? Speccing a new one on a fairly tight budget and umming and ahing about the tech pack. Lots of nice goodies like larger sat nav, touch pad and colour DIS but not strictly necessary.

Anyone got any experience of if it's a must-have or not? Also thinking about future value.

I test drove a new S-line A6 TDI Ultra, and the sat nav was the basic one, and it felt old and clunky, and that was comparing it to my 2012 A4's MMI 3G. Its a must imo, problem is the stupid cost, audi seem to have jacked up the options prices, my old A4, i had B&O audio & DAB added for £500, the equivant option on the new A4 is significantly more.

Someone on the TT forum just picked this up. I actually really like some of the more colourful colours you can get the TT/TTS in...I also love the solar orange colour. This one is Viper Green:
*snip*

I actually saw a TTS (previous gen car) in this colour the other day. Personally didn't like it, but you couldn't miss it! :)

Only recently chosen brand new due to incredible carwow discount. I literally couldn't get a 2015-2016 car with tech pack for what I'm paying.

As for light spec not worth it I agree, but the standard car already comes with pretty much everything I would want like Sat Nav, heated adjustable seats, folding mirrors and remote boot opening. Further packs are for things like parking assist, lane assist sunroof etc.

I'm happy to pay for tech pack and given what I've heard probably will, just want to know it's worth it.

Cheers

Edit: worth noting very few used examples have anything more than tech pack specced.

I ordered mine on the 12th Aug and the build tracker said the build would begin on the 12th Sept. I've just looked and my car is already at the paint shop stage.

Good progress, I guess. Better get my old plate transferred off my car :o

I got my A6 C7 Avant in July and I'm very happy with it. As you said the car has a very good spec as standard unlike the A4. The Tech Pack is worth it though if you can take it. I have the tech pack and reading some of the frustrations of people that did not opt for it I am very happy I did. I've not used much of the Audi connect, but not having live traffic updates would have made the satnav worse than my phone! It just makes both screens look much better as well:)

I was also looking 2nd hand, but after incredible discount from drivethedeal found a new car to be a much better deal than 2nd hand.

Thanks for that, sounds like you've had a similar experience looking to me.

I've opted for the tech pack now and hoping to get the ball rolling on an order on Monday :D

So the TT is comfortably comparable to Porsche now; perhaps Porsche are losing it or Audi are consistently getting it right, as I don't recall the MK1 being compared to a Boxster at the time of release. The way cars have developed over the years has certainly brought mainstream brands closer to what was considered premium pre 2000 imo. Then again its all under one umbrella right?

Genuinely surprised that the TTRS is south of 400BHP and not north of it.

Doesn't seem like as big of a jump as I was expecting from the TTS.

It was and I wrote to them to tell them they were talking out of their backsides and it was published. I was right, to compare the tweaked Mk1 to a Boxster was beyond laughable. It was a PR lead headline, frankly ****** me off so I told them so.

Audi have totally devalued the concept of RS when they gave the RS3 and RS Q3 just 330bhp, so I wouldn't be surprised if I was you.

RS always used to be about comparatively nutcase power.

I drove the RS Q3 thing at Oulton a few weeks back. Just terrible thing just understeered in the wet badly and felt too slow, to dead and frankly awful. The chap from Audi who was there with me said he agreed too. Marketing over capability.
