Audi owners in here!

Well quick update. Asked my dealer to add the lighting pack and he has nothing in the pipeline that would include it. Which meant factory order. Asked about tech pack and with discount already secured and looking at a factory order there was no additional discount on the pack.

Have decided to think again about changing. Took the Mustang away for the weekend and really struggling to want to get rid of it. Waiting on updated pricing from Audi as Q4 pricing campaign has started and my pricing from last week is no longer valid.

Will have to see what the numbers say as purely on driving and emotion I don't think I'll switch and will resort to keeping a weekend toy and getting the bus despite the cost.

I know you are talking to the dealer, but remember if you go through the brokers you get discount on the Tech pack as well. I only added my Tech pack after the order was passed from the broker to the dealer and the dealer still gave me a discount on the Tech pack. Mine was a factory order so it can be done - and was a similar percentage discount than I had on the car already. Also seems like the current A6 model without Tech pack has a problem with folding mirrors not working when locked by remote.

I like Carplay as find Siri useful to have (i.e. it just works compared to many other car voice control systems).

I really like the car play system, works much better than the integration BMW had on the idrive system on my 640d. Spotify, music, messaging work very well and even though my system has the built in Nav I do prefer the apple maps with the latest to Tomtom data and traffic.

I did actually mention the tech pack in my original post - on seeing cars with and without I think it is probably the most important upgrade over standard spec. I have ordered it on mine.

I ordered on the 14th Sept through Orangewheels + Crawley Audi (£11600 25.3% discount). The problem is, they aren't being completely straight with me. The fleet saleswoman I am in touch with is very quick to reply to emails and is helpful, and she told me that I won't get a order number for Audi Tracker until I get a build date, which she hopes to be in early October.

Smelling a rat, I phoned Audi UK who - credit where it's due - were very helpful indeed. They found my order and gave me my number to log into youraudi tracker. Unfortunately he also told me that Crawley Audi have no more allocation to place factory orders for A6 Avant Black Editions. More orders are allocated at the start of every month but he couldn't say whether Crawley would get any more this month. I'm going to phone tomorrow to ask whether they know yet.

If I won't even get a build date until next month at the earliest I will consider cancelling the order and looking elsewhere, if the eta starts running into Feb next year it would be worth waiting for March 1st for the 17 plate, but that's probably too long for me unfortunately.

That was my first thought. I guess the S3 WTF plate was already taken. :p

Pretty sure I've seen the M3 WTF plate about town previously and I don't think it was on an M3 then either.

I've had this plate since 2002, it has graced several cars including:

Two M3s
Evo8
RS6
M5
Alpina D3 BiTurbo

It'll go back on an M3, but not the current one sadly. Maybe the next one won't sound like a tractor :(

I have a 2013 Audi a3 1.6 tdi

recently noticed the odd small puff of smoke / steam near the front right when im sat in traffic

temps are always fine, no other problems or smoke from exhaust

is this DPF / regen or start / stop related
found some people online talking about it being normal

I have a service next month

water levels haven't changed

edit : hmm just looked at the water level has not moved in ages
however the lid for the water was not as tight as it can go, so maybe it was just that? guess the smoke/steam was from the area where that is

The 1.6 tdi hasn't figured in water pump failures and the majority have been s3's. White vapour from one exhaust might only signal a change in humidity levels common to this time of year..

Very nice :) Not many people have chosen red. I've only seen 1 for sale on the Audi Approved Used site.

I think I've seen this exact spec on Audi-Sport.net. Definitely interested to hear what you think of that engine when you get it.

EDIT: I've just noticed that you've chosen the "Driver Assistance" package. OMG, why don't more people spec this?! I really, really want adaptive cruise control and it's absurd that you have to spec the tech pack to get it. I kinda understand why they've done it since it uses the navigation data to help with semi-autonomous driving, but still, £2500 for adaptive cruise sucks :(

Thanks, yes that'll probably be my spec on Audi-sport, I needed the tech pack for the matrix headlamps and the virtual cockpit as well, so no choice there really.
There are some matador red ones but, as you say, quite rare. it is a good colour in my opinion and makes a change from all the blue, white, grey or black Audi's out there.
I have test driven a Avant with that engine, its quite a sweet, refined little engine really, however I could only go 'around the block' in it but other owners rate it quite highly. I certainly would not have a diesel, seeing as I do less than 10k a year, although I've had a 150ps 2.0lTDI for a day...

The 150PS TDi really wasn't bad in the B9 A4 I had. The only time it felt lacking was when trying to overtake while already doing 60MPH. I want the 190PS petrol, but if the right spec came up with a 190PS diesel I'd probably take it.
