Audi owners in here!

My silver/chrome trim in the A4 has got a few scratches/knocks from what looks to be rings or something from previous owner.

The inside is immaculate apart from this, where is the best place to get new trim from?

Also do you think 3m Di noc may look good in Carbon Fiber??

If had my time again I would AVOID the B7 Audi A4 170 at all costs. I stupidly got rid of my B6 Avant for the above car and have regretted it ever since (just take a look at the Audi forums) Yeah it has all the bells and whistles but its not a patch on my B6 I didnt realize what I was giving up until it was gone.

DMF Issues?

Is that the Technik spec?

Also my car is poorly...suspected DMF failure and going through the motions with the warranty company. Rattles on startup and around 60-70mhh it just doesn't feel right.

Garage thought the torque converter was going (no idea what this is!) but is 99% certain the cause is DMF. W e shall see!

Well I think I am going to have to go down the long road of fighting out a warranty claim.

My flywheel has failed and needed to get it replaced - £795.

The garage had the inspector come out today and has refused to pay out due to a slight bit of wear on a bearing. Garage is fighting my corner but if I do not get anywhere I will be going back to the garage who sold me the car & warranty only 5 months ago.

My arguement to them is you have a warranty for when things go wrong, you sold me this, something has gone wrong and now they won't sell out...miss selling much?

Now I am well aware of all the loopholes within the warranty but I do think I have a strong case with the car dealer, what do you guys think?

How you getting on with the A8 Reno? Has it thrown up any big bills?

A4 is due cambelt change soon, £500 quid bill...so far in the 9 or 10 months I have had the car it has cost £1300 on servicing and repairs...not so bad!

On another note me and the missus went looking around a few car garages this weekend - BMW, Audi & Land Rover. All offering fantastic service however I think the car to replace the Fiat 500 will be a Q3 or a Q5 if missus can get on with the slightly larger car.

I'm absolutely loving it! I gotta be careful though, you can so easily be doing 40 in a 30 zone without realizing, it's so smooth, effortless and your barely touching the throttle at that speed. Might have to switch the Speed Warning on, lol.

With the factory privacy rear glass and the electric blinds the little one falls asleep in the back in no time! :D

The only bill I've had (bar fuel :D ) is the service but even that wasn't as expensive as I expected, I took it to the Audi Specialist that looked after my old quattro... Full long life service and new front anti roll bar came in at a bit under £700.

Thanks for the little update and sorry for the delay in response!

Glad everything going well on the ownership, hopefully you have a good one there any only cost you consumables!

Edit: I assume this is the exact same engine as in the Continental GT? My MD had the Bentley and I am sure for a similar service it was twice the price!

Really like the look of that mate.

I don't like the wheels, we have the same car as a pool car at work and just think the wheels make the car look naff!

Knew my MOT was coming up soon, checked the documentation and it ran out last week! FFFFFFUUUUUUUU!

Booking in for MOT, Cambelt with service & Tyres...expensive month again!

Well car passed MOT, needed 2 new tyres as one had worn through to the cord & Oil change.

Cambelt ok till June so will be done whilst away on Holiday.

Just wait for my mate to drop car off tonight, bet it feels like a totally different car with the tyres changed!

Nice, sounds well looked after.

Sounds worse than it is lol.

More out of laziness not sorting things out tbh, I was quite shocked by the fact the tyres had gone to the core as was only last month when I checked the car over and saw the tyres were low.

I don'y mind spending cash on the car but with the wedding coming up in June these few months leading up to it money and cashflow is so tight. £1200 has been spent in the last 6 months on this car alone so not scrimped.

It also probabally sounds like a back street garage has done it also, when in fact these guys have carried out the work http://www.thevasstech.com/

How are people's oil usage on the 2.0tdi?

56 reg 140bhp here, got full service 1,400 miles ago and low oil binged and needed to top up.

Spoke to my mate who serviced it and says it is quite common, sometimes they just like to gulp he oil for no reason what so ever.

Topped up and will just keep my eye on it.

Well back from honeymoon and my mate kindly replaced the rear tyres and as suspected had a cracked rear spring.

All sorted now and driving nice, next up is just cambelt and water pump due.

as it is just over 1 year ownership and this thread being just over 1 year the car has seen:

1 new flywheel
4 new tyres
Service
MOT
New rear springs

Although a fair bit spent £1500+ on repairs and some consumables I hope this will see a few years of lower spending and just needing servicing and fuel! Well after the cambelt and wheels have been refurbished.

I am still happy with my purchase and can see me keeping for a good few years yet!
