Audi owners in here!

Out of interest what a real world figures on the VAG 280bhp engines? I.e. the one in say the Ibiza Cupra (yes I know this is an Audi thread!) but is a combined of around 40mpg really possible??

I know these guys do the tests in perfect conditions, but how can they really get away pulling them figures to the public?

Don't get me wrong I was really sceptical anyway but after looking at options to change the A4 and lease a car the Cupra Estate would be a nice upgrade and my allowance from work would cover.

I may have got away with a combined 40mpg as my long term average in the A4 2.0tdi is only 46.1mpg but 30mpg may not be classed as 'economical'.

Saying that the managing director classes his A45 as very cheap to run :D

I was trying to look at fast petrol as apposed to diesel but sadly I may just need to go down the route of the car being a 'tool' and change the wifes car to something a bit more interesting when it is due to be changed.

Just install the newer Audi unit, its much better. There is no need to go for the crappy units in situations where a much better OEM system exists and thats exactly the situation for the B6 A4.

Just been looking actually after I posted, it seems you can pick up the LED ones for around £400ish.

When you consider what a parrot & satnav costs + fitting it doesn't seem too bad, and would freshen up the interior nicely.

Is it the same Multitronic as in my 2006 A4?

To be honest I quite like it, smooth gear changes and in my opinion quite well suited to the 143bhp diesel engine.

When pushing on however it is a bit of a pain, but I do have flappy paddles on my car which helps.

..and they've packed up again. What's normally the cause of failure for these things?
I had the short beep this morning, directly followed by the long one to show a failure.

It's really weird, as all 4 sensors worked on Saturday

No dirt/mud getting up behind the bumper that could be creating a short? Or just a loose wire possibly?

I know simple but usually these things are the simpest things to repair!

Hi Guys,

Was changing the wheel over from spare to alloy after getting my wheel re-sealed (corrosion causing the tyre to go down).

Noticed the shock was leaking slightly, not checked the others but can imagine them being the original ones so havnt done too bad after 100k miles and 9 years.

Just wondering, what aftermarket kits could I possibly look at to maybe improve the ride quality?

Don't want to spend £££ but looking at it as an option.

Thanks

Has anyone experienced the corrosion warranty with Audi before? How do I potentially go about with a claim?

Car in question is the one in OP, 56 plate. Assume Audi have a 10 year warranty?

The front arch is bubbling, pictures below:

Excuse the spare, alloy currently away being refurbished.

Blue one looks great, love the wheels. Appreciate the A7 is in a different league cost wise, crazy to think you have 2 cars for the cost of the finance on 1 though!

Saw a TTS this morning...looked very nice and the noise it made when pulling away from the petrol station was very pleasing :D

Typical. My A6 doesn't have ISOFIX as standard

A metal bar and 2 screws from Audi: £50. Scandalous how a £30k+ car built in 2010 didn't come with ISOFIX as standard.

I am very shocked by that as my 56 reg A4 has them...wonder if it is a UK/Europe thing?

Would be nice to get it up to 200bhp, nice little boost.

With the other little bits you are on about doing will be some nice changes.

Currently my car does not have any integrated satnav/hand free and now doing much more miles with work using my phone sat nav and loudspeaker is proving to be a choir.

What are these eBay special addition head units like? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A4-2...730478?hash=item19d9e33cae:g:M1cAAOSwT6pVwC1f

The prices seem to vary quite considerably. Will something like this allow me to stream Spotify over Bluetooth?

I am hesitant to spend much money on the car as I am still undecided what I will be doing with it over the next 12 months, this week alone I have put 2,000 miles on it and coming up to 10 year old I do possibly fancy a change. Any money spent on gadgets will not be recouped.

I guess the other option would be a parrot and tom tom...just like the 'integrated' look of these systems.

Thanks

The problem is using the sat nav and phone calls at the same time. For example I was in a city centre the other day...phone rang and knocked the sat nav off, took the call and got lost!
