Audi owners in here!

Lots of things I don't like in that policy document. I can't copy and paste which is annoying, but things like..

Page 7 What is not covered

'Any items noted during the last service as requiring repair or replacement'

Really? What does this mean? Does it mean if they find something that needs replacing, its not covered? Really?!

This seems to be in the Audi Approved Warranty also. I spoke to the Dealer and he stated it is simply the 145 multipoint check saying that the car was free from fault when the warranty was offered..the same is true of the AAW policy also.

There is also a contribution towards parts costs as the mileage increases beyond 60k.

This is not in my policy documentation, so we can ignore that.

'Any costs related to diagnostic work'

Again... really?!

'Oil leaks'

'Cylinder head cracks'

'Failure of mountings of any description'

Just seems to be all sorts of little getout clauses in there. As you'd expect with the average third party warranty.

Oil Leaks are not covered under the Audi Warranty either.

The audi warranty is here:

https://www.audiextendedwarranty.co.uk/PDF/4090AUD 04_13.pdf

So effectively you are advising to reject it and wait for a renewal of my existing Policy?

Interesting, well it was a toss up between this one and a 55 plate red 2.0 TFSI Quattro, but the low millage and the DSG won it for me. Not too fussed about heated seats/cruise control as i've never had heated seats and cruise control is something i've rarely used int he past. Guess it's nice to have though!

I've seen a few on ebay also so they could be RHD ones but I will swap them out with OEM ones

Good man. You can also convert it to bi-xenon's but you need the headlights which are around £800 second hand + the self levelling system + headlight washers in the bumper.

I want to do this but because my car is Avis Silver (bluey silver pearlescent) I am not sure if a bodyshop would be able to colour match it to the rest of the car without it looking like it has had a respray on the front bumper :/

Jesus lol, yeah that's not going to be cheap! Personally I prefer to keep cars as standard as possible and the lights will annoy me (doesn't seem a massive job to change them except for if the wiring is a bit fudged). Best get a haynes manual :)

Yeah, guess if you want to do something it's got to be done properly and it's something that would stick out quite a bit =/

Loft. They headlights are rank. I would have insisted they put standard ones back in. Especially as they advertised the car, incorrectly, as having xenons.

Yeah that's true, will speak with them tomorrow (the deal is done but worth a try).
Will also take it down an Audi garage and get the free health check done. At least then I know it's 100%

Make sure you get the vin number, and give it to Audi to check for any recalls. Also make sure the timing belt has been done. And by Audi.

Also, make sure to get either the MOT test number or the v5 document number so you can do an MOT history check. This should help confirm that incredibly low mileage. And you will see all advisories ever needed for the car...

Thanks for the advice, what is the mileage/age on the timing belt? Guess the water pump should be included also.

Yeah going to call them tomorrow for that, forgot to make a note when I was looking at the docs. The millage matched up with the audi service history but at least the MOT history will be offical

It's low miles and has full Audi service history on it. Although it is 8 years old, so it's up to you really. I would probably be tempted to get it done by Audi. If it's due, I would make it a deal breaker with the seller though, unless you got a healthy discount already.

Well the millage all matches up on the MOT history, only failure was the latest one and about headlight level (not surprising with those lights).

5 years. Mileage won't be relevant on this car as it'll be 80k or something. Yeah, water pump at same time.

Out of interest when would you suggest to do water pump if car doesn't need a cam belt change (mine is chain driven) ? 28k miles 2008 car FASH but not done the 40k major service yet (obviously). And how much will audi charge to replace it?

I gave my car a big clean on Saturday and Sunday - this was taken after polishing on Saturday :D

Still got the A2, gave it a nice wash on Sunday. Still a 1.4 3 cyl Tdi with 90bhp. Still £30 a year to tax and still does 60mpg :D

Dear thing has done 175K now...
