Audi TT good or bad ?

It's like saying that the forum is more than the members in the Motors forum, and as such is browsed by young'uns (as well as old'uns). The owner would like to keep it as a family friendly forum, so no swearing :)

Its all in the FAQ - this is a family forum, so no posts that dont fit in with that. This includes swearing.

Spie pays for it all, he makes the rules, we obey :p

I really like them. I keep seeing a red one around campus and it really is a stunning car, i'm pretty sure there's something different about that particular one though.....

I echo Rotty's comments really, when it came out yes it was a breath of fresh air with funky styling, good engine etc. Now it almost looks, dare I say it, dated. Like someone sat on a new shape Beetle :)

the Haldex 4wd system was invented for the R32 golf

Wasn't it first used on the 4motion and then the S3? Or did they use a diff type?

And as for being kids, check who has "yer mum" down as their location lol :)

What do you drive Cassius Clarke?

As for the TT, I like it's looks but am not in a position to comment on much else as I have never driven one.

As for the image... it's unfortunate it wasn't kept a bit more exclusive, but if you like the car, who cares what anyone else thinks?

edit:

Just seen in the Clay Bar thread, so no need to post in here.

I have a 225 bhp TT convertible. The quality if of the interior is fantastic and considering its quit an old design I still think it looks very good. Everything feels solid and well made.

As Phantom said its costs a fortune to fix if anything goes wrong.

DreXeL is right they are not that quick unless you have it chipped by Revo however its far from slow.

Everything Rotty said : )

Overall I would not part with it unless it was going to be for something a lot better and faster. Within the same price bracket (around £15k used) I have not seen many other roadsters I would have.

However if you are looking at a new one at around £25k I would go for a boxter or a 350z (i know is not a roadster)

I like the cars. It was a shame that they were out of my price range for a decent one when I was looking. The main thing that put me off though was the cost of maintenance.

i agree with what peterNem says about loving your car "who cares" but in my eyes, driven a few different types of TT they are all really bad, like shocking enough for me to make a post about on a forum I joined yesterday.

i dont care what a car looks like (I drive a bath tub for gods sake) its how it works as a car, and thats what im talking about, yes the 4 motion was the first golf the haldex system was made for but VW already had the planes to use it in the R32 in place, the R32 is the real deal, and Haldex works very well in it, the 3.2TT seems to loose it all, go drive one you will see.

its like the mustang, figures add up looks OK i suppose, crap car when you drive it, only somone who has no clue would buy either

I was eyeing up R32s today funnily enough, hadn't bothered before but it's sneaking in to my next car list...

The Mustang is a special car. It may not be the last word in handling, but that's not really what it's meant to be about.

R32's are amazing, I had a "issue" with one once through heavy traffic on country lanes. the guy had no fear but the car really did suprise me, the 4wd set up is made for the R32 so it works well as there is a lot of weight over the reaer wheels, on the TT its the complete opposite, like they made it for the looks . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Never really thought of them as an option, a friend had one once and as nice as it looked I'd just never seen them as not another overpriced vw.

But after looking through Focus RS, Impreza, maybe an older S4 etc etc they are looking a good prospect :) I think they'd offer a good performance/running costs ratio.

an R32 is sure to keep the smile on your face, very capable car but go and drive a 3.2TT before or after and you will see what im talking about, there is no focus, no real feedback from the machine, id have a R32 if I swapped my current car.

well I think they are crap also, the 3.2 quattro version using the Haldex front wheel drive biased 4wd system is a shame to the original **1 name, the Haldex 4wd system was invented for the R32 golf, which is a fantastic machine in its own right, after driving the 3.2TT Im shocked how some people think they are good.

a) Haldex was not developed for the R32 Golf
b) How did you drive the Audi TT 3.2 V6 if you are, as you said in another thread, 14? ;)

Said he was 14?

But hes been showing us his nice porsche etc..

Where does he say that?

My limitted impressions of TT driving were good. Driving mates 225, found it handled pretty well and went pretty well to.

TT Coupes have much less of an image problem than cabs to in my opinion.
