Australian GP 2009 - Race 1/17 (NOT in HD BTW)

Just goes to show though that Formula One is 90% car 10% driver.

Put a rubbish driver in a f1 car and they'll spin it at every corner. The cars count for a lot but so do the drivers. Coulthard said it best. The difference between the best and worse car is a couple of seconds. The difference between the top and worse driver is about 1/2 a second, I would agree with that.

why did mclaren decide to change the whole gear box rather than just the gears and save the penalty?

Gearboxes have to last 4 races and they're near the back here anyway. I guess they'd rather take the penalty here rather than the box possibly failing later if theres anything else wrong in there.

Take the driver out - see how fast the car goes round the track then...
they could have computers drive the cars and they would probably be faster than the drivers :D
doubt anyone would really want to watch though.

lol @ eddie jordan in regards to KERS "im not going to say what i sad before which was..." then he goes on to say it anyway what a ****

The only reason theres half a second between drivers in f1 is because a lot of the time drivers are there because of nationality or sponsor or name. If they actually had the cream of drivers there wouldn't be a half second.

Besides on here last year Button was constantly slated as a past it rubbish driver with his mind elsewhere.

Better car and bingo, pole. There are 6 or so drivers that would have got that car on pole. I doubt there is anything near 3/10ths between the best 10 drivers.

Obviously only a few can do that lap consistently.

I expect it's already been posted.

Toyotas thrown out of qualifying

And seeing as top cars are so close the drivers make a large difference.

Very happy for Button and Barrichello. I've always been big fan from Button since he came to the sport. I'll need to update my BAR and Honda shirts when Brawn GP get some Merch out.

Great to see some close times and on the limit dedication on the circuit. Certainly made qualifying quite exciting, I think this race is going to be great, whether brawn GP win or not, we're gonna see a deserving podium either way,

Well I think the difference in driver ability in F1 is minimal compared to the difference the car makes, F1 has a lot of top drivers most of them have just been struggling over the years in uncompetitive cars.
