Australian Grand Prix 2011, Albert Park Circuit - Race 1/19

So vettel had all four wheels off the track when he overtook Button but never got a drive through!

Get rid of tarmac runoffs, add more grass and gravel. Or even just taller kerbs or speed bumps.

Leave the track - get a punishment.

The thing about tarnac runoffs, is they keep more cars in the race, battling, for longer.

If button hadn't had that runoff route, there may well have been carnage.

I must admit, I am very happy with the progress that McLaren have made with their car! Excellent result from Hamilton (hope it sticks), shame about Button however.

This should be a short title fight. To have that advantage without Kers is game over. I was banking on Red Bull having an unreliable Kers system which would even things up, but they don't even need to run it.

Surely though they need to get used to using it and taking the failures other teams have had over the previous year of using it. Better now when they have a second per lap atleast in hand??

I'm not a fan of the wing but won't write it off just yet. Last year this forum had loads of knee jerk reactions after Bahrain and the season turned out fine.

I think RB have a bigger advantage than last year, which is stunning as a team but gutting to watch the fourth or fith best driver in F1 walk to a title.

But how much of that seconds is because they don;t run KERS, Horn has already said Newey would not compromise the car to put kers in and we all know it unbalances the car due to braking. Perhaps KERS is more of a hinderence, as long as you are out in front. As they've had to design KERS to fit around the car, I expect there is a lot of problems with it. Would be interesting to see what times they have if they use it.

Also be nice to see what mclaren can do when they get their proper revision parts and not components thrown together and protected by titanium.
