The difference with Button was that Vettel took the long way around and Button clearly cut the corner.Does anyone have a link to video of Vettel's pass. I don't remember thinking it was too dodgy at the time.

Part of the reason for Heidfelds complete lack of pace in the race:

That's his car in parc ferme.

Woah. Any idea how/when that happened? Mind you, it still doesn't explain why he was so terrible in Quali.
Just a thought on the DRS, Coulthard mentioned on numerous occasions that he sees it no different to having a boost button back in the turbo says.
This isn't the first time the cars use the run-off areas, I think there are other tracks where all the cars use a very wide line to maintain speed. No difference as in they both broke the rules but only difference is only one got a drive through.

Oooof! at the damage on Heidfelds car, thats pretty impressive.

I would go with that, however it needs to be available at all times if they are going to bother with it & possibly a limit per lap like KERS if they feel the need to restrict it. It should be upto a driver to decide if he has the balls to use it between 2 & 3 or along the long curved section between 10 & 11.
which is one reason he is retarded.
Boost button was never limited to the loser only.
Ignore comparison to JB as that was totally different.
FIA have restated this season that at least one wheel must remain on the track and that they would be watching for such infringements and they would be punishing.
yet again FIA saying one thing and doing another.
Also even though vettle took a longer way, he could carry much more speed into the corner, throughout the corner and get the power down much faster and harder on the way out.
Do we expect anything else from the FIA these days?
Except the stewards decide, not the FIA - and they had Jonny Herbet to advise them too.
Cars usually get punished if they cut a corner or gain an advantage by going on the inside (off track). I've never seen one punished for going off the track on the outside.
Obviously F1 drivers didn't play F1 2010, if you even think about putting a wheel on the edge of the track you lose your lap.

Not every car and every component gets fully checked by the FIA scrutineers.
