Australian Grand Prix 2015, Melbourne - Race 1/19

I think it was. It was pushed later by a few hours because Bernie wanted it on at a more convenient time in Europe (it used to start at 3 or 4am or something) but has now come forward an hour because the end of the race with a 6am start was hitting sunset.

The messing about with the times was a right pain and less convenient. I used to get up watch the races like Aus, Japan etc.. then go back to sleep, now they've changed it so it's too late to go back to sleep once the race finishes :(

It would be better to have it 11am, which I think would be midnight here. you could just stay up, then go to bed. Pubs could show it as football is rarely on at that time. Around would be far better.

Here we go again then!

Hello everyone, who's making the bacon sarnies ready for far too early o clock on Sunday? :D

Well volunteered! Smoked and crispy please :p

I would usually be buzzing for this but there just won't be any competition. I want tobsee a close, competitive championship between a few constructors but it'll be one way traffic. I really want Bottas and Massa to win a few races between them.

Whoop! Seems to have rolled around quickly.

I managed to get in on the PH event at Mercedes Benz world, so will be an even earlier start to get up there for 4am.

Hope they dish out some freebies!

Should be on the lash, but can't get it off work. If I don't finish in tome to watch it or now TV breaks I'll be doubly annoyed.

The home cured bacon is in the freezer, as are the gloucester old spot sausages from my butcher. Homemade hash browns are also in there. Bread will be picked up from my local baker on thursday.

Got some Kangaroo for Sunday though. :D May try doing a year of local meals during the GP again. Sod the vegemite this time though. Vile stuff. It's like what happens to food in hell!

Bernie's desire to make everything "conveniently" timed for European audiences is so missguided. 1pm is really annoying.

There's a reason Canada and USA get such high viewing figures, its because it's on in the evening when it's not inconvenient to sit infront of the TV. ~7am or ~7pm are the best race start times.

I agree. I love the evening races. Just fits so well with Sunday TV viewing. Especially in the summer.

Yep, mid day is stupid, especially in summer, loads of festivals and stuff during the day.

Already got plenty of food, beer, cider festivals lined up.

Still waiting for the F1 Timing app too... less than 72 hours to go and it's not available yet.

Suspect it'll be utter guff for the first 10 races again. It kind of worked last year, but had quite a few issues. Started to work properly in the last half of the races.

Does seem that the new F1 website will have a premium option at £2 monthly or £20 annually. Hope that covers the mobile app too.

Quality driver but a petulant child. No one has ever told him no, really gone to his head.

The thing is, I believe that the bad side of Lewis is also what makes him a hungry and winning driver. Chances are, if Lewis was mister nice guy he might not do so well. Look at Vettel, people said similar things about him. Look at Kimi, horrible person, but he won the WDC once.

Look at Coulthard. Lovely guy. What did he ever win of great significance though.

I know this doesn't apply completely across the board, but from what I've seen, all the great winners have a dislikeable side in one way or another. What makes someone unlikeable (spoilt brat/ angry/ devious) often is what makes them great too.

Appreicate these threads and OP but it'd be nice if you'd include the BBC times for those of us that don't want to subscibe to Sky Sports (with hatefull football et al) and happy enough to watch delayed coverage for half the races.

Sure, no worries.

Added to OP and will be there from now on.

Button proves that you can be a World Champion and a nice guy at the same time, that's what I like about Button, there's no hidden agenda, no moody or petulant side. He's the kind of bloke you could bump into down your local and have a pint with yet you wouldn't even know he was a world famous sportsman letalone F1 Champion.
