Is there any way to record it in 4K on Sky Q because I am not getting up that early to probably watch the Mercs dissappear into the distance. I have set it to record but couldn't see anything obvious to make it record in 4K. If not I guess I will have to wait for the next race to see some 4K goodness.

IIRC you need to set it to records from the Sports -> UltraHD section of the menu.

The weather forecast seems to have changed again. We're now on for a 91% chance of rain for qualifying, and 0% chance for the race. That'll be a test for the drivers as all the practice sessions are set to be warm and dry.

Keen to see if Ricciardo can comprehensivly beat Verstappen this year, if Red Bull will even allow it. Last year failures and retirements played a big part in him finishing ahead of his teammate in the championship.

Also keen to see how McLaren are on pace. I saw their recent documentary and was not impressed. All I got from it is that they seem disorganised, wing it, and Alonso does what he wants. Haha.

Kimi seems concerned about fuel use. Mercedes engine will probably put them to the front this year again. Will be difficult to know full pace since cars are going to be managing engine use and fuel use more than ever this year. I would be surprised to ever see a big lead at the front. Max will go for fastest laps as ever and will forget about the long game.

when they going to stop their blocking nonsense.
they realise a lot of people wont click to go to youtube so will never see it and most people see such videos through forums, fb, reddit.

just another example of many of how they shoot themself in the foot.

oh and haircut is WOW, in a bad way.

Rosberg talking nonsense as usual. His version of hamiltons perceived 'inconsistencies' most of the time stemmed from reliability. I do wish rosberg would disappear.

Everyone playing it down except Mercedes. Max - we might have speed issues on the straight. Kimi - fuel saving is going to hurt the sport. Lauda - yup, we are fastest.

Oh, and McLaren seem pretty upbeat. Alonso - we have made the biggest step forward. Not difficult to improve when you were at rock bottom tbh.

Riccardo actually had worse luck than Max. It was only Max involving himself in first lap incidents that put him behind on finishes.

I think Riccardo will comfortably best Max again this season.

I want to see them both under pressure. Riccardo has had it all too easy. Easy to be smiley and happy when you aren't actually fighting for anything. Same with Max, easy to push passed the two championship contenders when you have nothing to lose yourself, but the other has everything to lose.

Riccardo went to Red Bull and made their multiple-championship-winning golden boy look utterly ordinary. I think we've already seen him under pressure but, yes, I agree. I want to see them, and the other drivers, tested. Max needs to show that he's worthy of the reputation he's already run up without earning them.

I've never felt so meh about the opening to an F1 season. Probably because Merc were mocking everyone all winter and will streak away right from the get go. I hope I'm wrong and it's super competitive but that's a long shot.

Here we go. FP1 show about to start on Sky.

Let's see how many of the rumoured changes have made it to the broadcasts. Was beginning to sound a hell of a lot like watching Indycar, or that dreadful guff that happened at Austin.

Yup. New logo still ridiculous.

Ted getting up close with the Halo on a Mercedes. Gopping.
