New position graphics aren't bad.
They haven't tested them properly though. The translucent bit behind the numbers means you can't see some of them easily.

Intro was laughable, initial reaction is I don't like the new position graphics, but I expect they will grow on me.
Was it just me missing it or did Crofty not mention the 3 DRS zones?

Lovely snowplow on the McLaren there.....
And a Simpsons reference from Ted. :D

Gasly tore his race suit getting out of the car. Well, that's a good start for safety and cost cutting.

Ok the lap times on the new position graphics are way to difficult to read, even on my 65" UHD set.

Oh.. I thought they'd been designed for 4k which is why they looked bad on 1080p. Dread to think what they'll look like on a compressed to hell web stream.

The font certainly doesn't help.

they have made all the position and times, listing smaller to fit all 20 drivers on the screen at once and then left 6 inches at the bottom of the screen, terrible decision in my opinion.

The graphics are from 1984.
You can't see the driver when they are in the garage.
The graphics are to big and in the wrong place on the screen
FOM camera angles are all wrong.
And no lap times or stop clock....

To be fair you couldn't see the drivers behind the old monitors either. But yes some of the graphics are huge and then others are tiny, it will be interesting to see what they do with them during qualifying.

The live laptime graphics box is huuuge, and contains absolutely bog all information other than currently laptime and best laptime.

Why not tyre compound, no of laps done, no of laps done in stint, split time, current laptime and so on... But no...

Well that's FP1 done, and Merc do seem to be on top at the moment.

Oh, have they forgotten about the team radio for the broadcast too? There was some on the app, but not the tv.

Oh no. The graphics are getting worse... It's just going complete cheese-o-rama.

Bloody Yanks.

Judging by the amount of early running in the session and worries about engine life I can see FP1 sessions being very quiet later in the season. No one will want to put more miles on their engines. I wouldn't be surprised to see some teams doing a shakedown then only running three or four flying laps 3-6 seconds off their maximum potential.

Let them use as many engines as they want, but each component replaced takes a point off their WCC points. If Mercedes want to replace everything after every race, let them. New ICE, turbo and MGU-K every race? That's minus 63 points. Then if they use the same components for three races, give them a point. Then the next race, two points. Then next one, four, then eight, then 16 points for any subsequent rounds. Really encourage reliability but let teams spend if they want to.

Too much of a common sense approach so will never happen :D

At least it wouldn't ruin the driver championship with grid drops etc, or impose fines that are meaningless to big teams, but a huge setback to smaller teams.

Is it just me or is the F1 app now completely subscription only? I can’t seem to view anything on it now, it just asks me to pay.

Does anyone pay for it? I’ve always liked having the live timing in front on me on my iPad during the race, the limited timing was ok for free before. I’ve been tempted to pay for it before, but kind of loathe having to.

Edit - actually I can still view results, just some buttons seem to get me stuck, very weird.
