I never saw this thread - so few people watch tennis.
The game of the tournament had to be Radwanska vs Azarenka. I don't think I've ever seen a woman play as well as Radwanska did today, in terms of her returns.
Normally, we see Serena and the power players, hit the ball hard. Today, Azarenka did exactly this, but to no avail. Radwanska was caressing the ball and manipulating the trajectory of the ball to all parts of the court and for the first time, no matter how hard Azarenka hit the ball, the ball kept coming back, flat.
I totally understand now, why in Poland, Radwanska is so popular.
And then there was Djokovic who got beat.
And Serena.
And Sharapova.
Many top seeds lost (against expectation).
Federer is now playing close to how he used to play. Its probably been about 2 years, since he played like he is playing right now. Not sure if this is down to Edberg (given that Edberg only arrived on the scene a few weeks ago).
Nadal, has to be favourite, but I do believe that Federer, who is playing better than he has in a very long time, has good chance of beating him, on merit.
Great stuff.
