Maybe I was being harsh before, he does look like he's suffering but there's an element of the boy who cried wolf here perhaps as he does have some history in gamesmanship.

Just because this time out might be genuine (we'll see about that) doesn't change the very recent past, I view any of Nadal's injuries with the suspicion they deserve.

Feel just as sorry for Wawrinka as I do for Nadal. He would've wanted to win fair and square rather than be awarded a default win if that happens. Just hope Nadal gets over his back injury.

Nadal still isn't moving as quick as he was on the baseline. Seems to be picking and choosing what he goes for rather than going for everything. Commentators seem to be hoping that he's 100% more than anything when the truth is Wawrinka's gone off the boil.

Not very often, and they still haven't introduced the biological passport that cycling uses. Wouldn't surprise me if a decade or two from now tennis sees similar revelations to late 90s/early 00s cycling.

Would be great for tennis to have 4 players capable of winning at least 3 of the Grand Slams again if Wawrinka can overcome Nadal today.

Edit: Nadal looks far more comfortable at the back of the court now but the extra pace he's able to generate on his shots is actually benefiting Wawrinka more
