Austrian Grand Prix 2014, Spielberg - Race 8/19

I get the feeling Hami's going to have to have a chat with himself and knuckle down, still time , but I'm not sure he's got it in him anymore.

I'm it's already over for Hamilton. The red mist has already set in.

I think it's a bit early to write him off, we're not even half way through the season yet.

I do agree that he needs to get it together sooner rather than later but with 12 races and 325 points still up for grabs (including today's race and double points in Abu Dhabi) there's still plenty of time for the tide to turn back in his favour.

The one good thing about his spin yesterday was that it stopped Rosberg getting pole. :p

BBC said:
Rosberg was beaten by Williams drivers Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas, and blamed Hamilton's spin for preventing him from taking pole, saying he lost time as a result of the incident as he was behind his team-mate on the track at the time.

"That's an if and when and whenever," Rosberg said. "For sure it stopped me from having a shot at it. I don't know whether it would have worked out or not. I think so."

Asked whether he had a response, Hamilton said: "Not particularly," before joking: "It definitely wasn't deliberate."

I liked his comment at the end. :)

I fully expect Rosberg to win today barring any technical problems but I can also see Hamilton getting a podium.

E: Hamilton's first Q3 run would only have put him 5th even if he hadn't run off at turn 8. Linky.

Note To Teams

During the race, any driver leaving the track on the exit of turn 8 who appears to have gained a clear and lasting advantage by doing so, will be reported to the stewards. We would not, for example, expect a driver who left the track on the exit of turn 8 to attempt to pass a driver in front of him into turn 1.

Furthermore, any drivers who repeatedly leave the track on the exit of turn 8 will also be reported to the stewards.

Drivers are reminded that if they leave the track they may re-join but only if they do so safely and without gaining any lasting advantage (Article 20.2 of the Sporting Regulations).

Ex-Red Bull driver Mark Webber on his old team mate Sebastian Vettel: "He doesn't look confident in the car."
