If the Merc tires are the only reason Merc were faster in Barcelona and France, why did Merc dominate qualifying here? If they overheat tires so much they blister why didn't the tires overheat in qualifying making it impossible to get a full lap before the tires overheated... right, because it wasn't a problem.

Erm maybe the fact the track temps were much higher on Sunday? Lewis is already crying to get his special tyres...have to wonder why if they don't benefit them.....

Because he wasn't able to push to attack Kimi without the tires degrading, but the same was true for Ferrari in Barcelona. THe tires running a little cooler make them more able to be pushed, which is better for everyone.

Again, Ricciardo had tires that dropped off earlier than Hamilton's and worse despite being in clean air, you can't attack with these tires thus they are zero fun to drive on. Ricciardo tried to catch Max... screwed his tires, Hamilton was forced to push harder with Vettel behind and wanting to get back points his team cost him, screwed his tires.

Vettel didn't attack, tires were okay, Verstappen didn't attack, tires were okay, Kimi didn't attack tires were okay. Ricciardo fell back to him, was really slow and Kimi still didn't push hard to pass him, he waited for Ricciardo to get even slower and basically fall out of the way.

Everyone should want better tires including you so there was some, what's that stuff called again... right, racing. If Hamilton came out, settled for 4th or 5th and went slow he'd have gone to the end easily. Again you keep ignoring that Verstappen and Ricciardo had the same tires and the same car, they just chose differently in how they drove. Verstappen was leading, had no need to push, Ricciardo stupidly though hey, a race, a guy not far ahead, I'm going to try and catch him... nope, punished, because the tires suck this year.

Monaco, Canada, anyone that attacked had problems, anyone who cruised around was okay. You're blaming Mercedes and banging on about special tires because the only tracks this year where we've had more pushing and racing had tires that don't overheat the second ANY team push hard or attempt to race. Take the blinkers off, stop being driven by bias and realise what Hamilton was saying.

Well Lewis better get his team to work out how to fix their tyre problems as after Silverstone he won't have the Merc tyres again. Wanting better racing needs to be done correctly not changing the tyres mid season so Lewis and his team need to get to work, just like Ferrari had to do after Barcelona.

And he only complains when the result has not gone his way, had he won the race there would be no talk about tyres. Lewis did not need to attack in the 2 races he won with Merc tyres either so not sure how you can say the Merc tyres helped people attack....Alonso seemed to be able to attack the race yesterday......

Jeez, give it a rest! We get that you just don't like Hamilton. There's no need to beat the subject to death using the tinfoil hat excuse of "Merc special tyres" that's been thoroughly refuted by Vettel after Spain.

Hamilton is a racer and wants to win races, that's the way he's wired. It's not that hard to understand.

I already posted ted's notebook that debunks that

It doesn't at all. Ted said they went bad because he pushed, he wasn't the only driver to push, it wasn't Merc specific, and the person you are replying to is accurate. Lewis complained because the tires suck and he wasn't able to attack drivers. The only drivers who had no tire issues cruised to the end and didn't attack anyone.... that is absolutely terrible for F1.

kimi did attack if had 3-5 more laps he would have had max

Do you need an explanation of how a forum tends to work? So how about you give it a rest. As already shown Vettel did not refute anything about how these tyres suit Merc, he talked about Ferrari.

I going to stop feeding the troll now.

I've only been here for about 17 years. So go on, explain how the forum works.

Ah so because I don't support Lewis is makes me a troll, how novel :D but expected from this section of the forum.

You could counter my opinion by showing me where Vettel spoke about the tyres for Mercedes? As I said he spoke about Ferrari and how they would have been worse off with the old tyres, due to there suspension set up, there is nothing about how much it could have affected Merc, they might have been even more worse off.....

I don't support Lewis either. I'm generally impartial and just want to see a good race. But we're treading over old ground as we've had this discussion in the past when I've called out your irrational Hamilton bashing over previous years.

Did Lewis complain about the tyres in Spain when Ferrari were blistering and unable to push? We both know the answer right......

Hang on, so let me get this right ... he moans about tyres in Austria and you have a go. He doesn't moan in Spain after other teams had issues and you still have a go.

Step away from the keyboard, and anything F1 related and go outside or something.

Which is what I said in the post you quoted me and took offence at?? so yes maybe if he complained about tyres when he was winning it might well hold a bit more weight...

Not a bad race, had some good moments.

Does anyone know why ferarri didn't tell kimito give up 2nd in the end?

I thought they would have done it, but I guess with Lewis out it was win/win for them with Seb. Had Lewis not DNF I think a swap would have happened.

Well, with the coming circuits like Germany, Budapest, Belgium, Italy, Singapore and Brasil which can suit ideally the Ferraris, I really doubt Hamilton has that much chance to clinch it, after all.

A1 Ring.

In both cases, mistakes by Ferrari. Back in 2002, there wasn't much contest in the Championship and Michael could have allowed himself to drop the win for the sake of the fairplay.

Right now, the situation is dire for Sebastian and he desperately needs every single point he get get.

BUT Kimi wouldn't have heard the instructions from his race engineer.
