Erm maybe the fact the track temps were much higher on Sunday? Lewis is already crying to get his special tyres...have to wonder why if they don't benefit them.....
Because he wasn't able to push to attack Kimi without the tires degrading, but the same was true for Ferrari in Barcelona. THe tires running a little cooler make them more able to be pushed, which is better for everyone.
Again, Ricciardo had tires that dropped off earlier than Hamilton's and worse despite being in clean air, you can't attack with these tires thus they are zero fun to drive on. Ricciardo tried to catch Max... screwed his tires, Hamilton was forced to push harder with Vettel behind and wanting to get back points his team cost him, screwed his tires.
Vettel didn't attack, tires were okay, Verstappen didn't attack, tires were okay, Kimi didn't attack tires were okay. Ricciardo fell back to him, was really slow and Kimi still didn't push hard to pass him, he waited for Ricciardo to get even slower and basically fall out of the way.
Everyone should want better tires including you so there was some, what's that stuff called again... right, racing. If Hamilton came out, settled for 4th or 5th and went slow he'd have gone to the end easily. Again you keep ignoring that Verstappen and Ricciardo had the same tires and the same car, they just chose differently in how they drove. Verstappen was leading, had no need to push, Ricciardo stupidly though hey, a race, a guy not far ahead, I'm going to try and catch him... nope, punished, because the tires suck this year.
Monaco, Canada, anyone that attacked had problems, anyone who cruised around was okay. You're blaming Mercedes and banging on about special tires because the only tracks this year where we've had more pushing and racing had tires that don't overheat the second ANY team push hard or attempt to race. Take the blinkers off, stop being driven by bias and realise what Hamilton was saying.
