When did Silverstone fans cheer a Verstappen crash ? Even last year at Silverstone in the viral clip that went online from the stands barely anyone is cheering once Vertappens car hits the wall due to the speed of it. It's just kind of shocked wtf vibes. They even cheered him when he got out the car.

If someone retires or something then fair enough with booing, doing it after crash is weak sauce.

Dutch 'f1 fans' are 90% casual football fans with no knowledge of F1 so not surprising.

It's nothing new, I was at Silverstone when Schumacher went into the wall and broke his leg. As the crash happened and was shown on the screens, a big cheer went around the entire circuit. For them to suggest on the commentary today that it's something new was quite surprising.

Well, outstanding work from the Mercedes drivers there. Just top notch. The team needed the cars pulling apart to figure out what's wrong with the design this year, so both Hamilton and Russell oblige them by trying to dismantle their cars against the barriers.

:p

Like the commentators said, I can't remember the last time Hamilton binned it with no contact from anyone else. Magic brakes at Baku perhaps, not that he hit anything.

EDIT: Although I'm sure someone will post about something really obvious :p

Yep, fully agree. I was also at Silverstone at that race.......................................the roar from the fans (me included) was massive. As was the roar from the fans in 2010 when Webber beat Vetel followed be the now infamous "not bad for a number 2 driver" radio message.

Hockenheim quali in 2014 ? He sort of binned it at Hockenheim in the 2019 race as well.

Finally a relatively sensible penalty.

Lol at this, RBR must be close to breaking the cost cap already with quotes like this.

The team made the point that they took both risk and expended resources to compete in Q3,” the FIA bulletin reads. “The stewards accept this point. However, in assessing a penalty after a session, this is no different than any other situation.

I didn't really understand the slowness with this, but we don't really need to right? F1 stewards are hardly known for consistent speedy decisions.
Feel bad for Gasly and AT, but understand Red Bull's frustration also. Was quite tedious seeing constant track limit violations. Would be better if they just put gravel everywhere, or walls... Drivers would keep it in between the lines then.
