What do we think is going on? I've never thought he was that good, but I'm pretty sure he's not a back of the grid pay driver. Are modern cars just too much for him? He's absolutely wasting that McLaren seat just now, and will cost them millions in points money, and salary this year.

I watched a video a while back that explained how the McLaren doesn’t suit his style. He likes a front end that he can trust to brake late with and then throw it into a corner. However the McLaren doesn’t give him this. You could say the best drivers in the world should be able to adapt but I guess only the Max’s, alonsos’, Lewis’ etc of the grid can actually do this… Even sainz said to him after his move to the Ferrari, “so how are you finding the McLaren? It’s weird isn’t it?!” And he was like, yeah thanks, you could’ve told me that before I chose to move! Haha!

I’ve always said he should’ve stayed with RB. It suited his style and he was always trading blows with max.
