Cut foreign aid, right now, 0% out
Close our borders, or lock them up so tight it resembles Australia Border control.
Kick every hate spewing Al-Qaida scumbag out, and their families.
Cut the tax on Petrol, Cigarettes and Alcohol by 10p
Bring Vat back down to 17.5%
Notice how people and government have considerably more money.
People will stop worrying so much about spending, spending will go up, Eventually, and probably faster than that asshat can manage, England will be out of recession

How would any of these help?
Closing your borders also stops doctors/scientists/engineers etc from entering the country, we should be encouraging skilled workers to come here (same with foreign students who want to study here). Also we're part of the EU and most of our immigrants are from the EU so 'closing our borders' would be pretty useless.
Why would they reduce taxes on Cigarettes and Alcohol? Didn't they just announce a rise/new minimum alcohol price?

I said lock it up tight, obviously somewhat open, skilled people and the like would naturally be allowed entry providing they meet required targets, I meant shutting down this open door approach we seem to have especially with regards to illegal immigrants gaining entry and being furnished with education, housing, food etc etc
The system should be, you get out what you put in, not the other way around.

When there is a sale on, what do people do, ooo they spend. regardless if they need it or not for the most part.
If prices are cheaper, more people would buy, more money spent, liberated from boxes, banks, wallets, purses. less people worried about being broke or how they will manage to afford thing.

Tbf, he did say like Oz, which is tight but allows people with the required skill/money criteria to settle.
No where near as much as the general public seems to think.
