It'd be good to have a change of Mods/UBs every year.
Why?

This isn't a democracy, with elected representatives. The mods are there to do a job, and the more efficiently they do it, the better for the rest of us. To my mind, the team relationship between the mods is central to that efficiency.

Besides, if we commute their sentence and give them time off for good behaviour, some of us might actually have to do the work instead. While we can find people mug enough to put in those hours, let's all keep our heads down, keep schtum and hope they notice and don't wise up. :D

It'd also be good to vote on MoH or other such forum awards.
But that either wont happen (most likely), or will be seriously skewed in favour of the popular members of GD/SC.
Completly forgetting all the good work done by people in other forums. Theres often good guides/reviews written by people on here in the various forums that get no recognition at all beyond a post that says 'great thread'.
Those are the people who should be getting the MoH or similar awards. Not whos the most popular.

Perhaps there could be a MoH from each section of the forum, with a thread for voting in each section. The secions could either be each individual forum or each group. (such as Life and Hardware)

If the mods changed every year then it would take a month or more to get into what you have to do, and I do not think there are enough people on here up to putting the time into the UB job, yet alone Don.

Shocking how much work you just 'happen' to do. :(

Thats a good idea.
Because half the MoH's im sure most of the forum have never heard of.
And visa-versa, i doubt that some of the regulars from GD/SC will have heard of some of the big contributers from the other forums.

Id say yes to custom av's if there was an override option in the user cp that switched them all back to standard ones, those that want em can see em and those that dont use the override

Actually a selectable theme for the whole board would be good, fixed avatars based on whichever theme you pick

id like to vite for monkeypants to win the first man of shame if it happens

I think the avatars should stay the way they are, it's one of the reasons why these forums look so cool and consistent. Guess I have to praise you for not allowing gif in sigs either cos that would mess it up a bit.

Would be nice if we had the option to disable the display of avatars as we can with sigs. Having images of any size in threads just makes them clunky and less readable. Why waste 2 inches (on this naff low-res lappy) of screen real-estate for one sentence posts?

If everyone's posts looked like manoz's above, would tidy the forum up nicely.

Edit: however given that the OP has now been suspended, it appears dissent is frowned upon. :(

say that when you've been here for 5000 posts worth! ;)

LoL, I gather it will change when I've done that much.

Von luck has a legit point though, I've been on forums which were lax in restriction in the avatar and sig department and made it frustrating to read at times.

EDIT:Off topic, but wouldn't the date and time of a post be better off being put on top rather then the bottom of it?

I am happy with my avatar.

Any more over 1000 point and it will get people spamming for the next one.

Anyone over 1000 posts here posts because they like doing so, and creates a less spammy community.

It is afterall, only a picture.

The date and time fit in perfectly, changing it now would throw people who have been on the boards for half a decade into a giant headache creating tools out the pram.

It works as it is, great community, no need to change it. :)
