Im using 4x AA and 16x AF at 1680x1050 res atm and disabled AF in the game. Using the highest settings the rather limited video options will allow me lol.

When I try at 1920x1080 my monitor shows the res as 1920x1079 plus the refresh rate isnt 60 as usuall either.

I didnt notice any lag with the alien or predator but the bullets when playing a marine travel like they are flying through a room filled with marmite
 
It won't even find a game for me anymore. Might just leave it till later today to try, not impressed so far!
 
Demo definately seems rushed imo. Only direct x 9 for a start when the release is two full versions above that shows that the console demo will be exactly the same as the pc one. Coupled with the lack of graphical options and no ability to search for servers looks to me that we should just wait for the final release and see how it sits then.

It's definately got potential as the atmosphere is there, just need to see more than 1 small level, 1 multiplayer option and the game actually using the tech its been talking about since it was announced.
 
I've played once as each class, its hard to say wether its any good at this stage. I did absolutely rubbish as the predator the alien much better though. Is the marine supposed to control like he's having a fit.

They've added major motion blur, you cannot see a thing if you turn too quickly.
 
Managed to find one game, went marine - didn't seem too shabby although the lack of crouch, ADS seems a bit meh. Ran smoothly, just hoping there is a nice set of SP campaigns :D
 
Well, managed to get a round and a half in.

I had no sound :( Far Cry 2 didn't like my soundcard either, so that sucked, means I'd have to reboot and use onboard sound whenever I want to play :p

Played as Alien both rounds (not by choice! - hard to figure out how to change in lobby), pretty difficult to control, although I have a feeling it could be quite fun once you get the hang of jumping from surface to surface (those who have played Prey a lot will like this!), I don't like how in deathmatch you can see an outline of an enemy player? That seems to ruin the whole stealth aspect - although I'm not sure if the outline only appears by doing a certain thing.

I didn't notice any lag. I'd like to play a bit more tomorrow (with sound...).
 
Demo looks absolutely appalling graphically :eek: think I will wait until this goes down to a budget price as it looks like a budget game :(

No wonder you can pre-order for under £20 now on many etailors that's usually a strong sign its not expected to sell well :(
 
Why would they release a pre=release code that only uses DX9 and apparently poorly graphically too? I thought the whole point in a demo is to give the best example of the game instead of something crippled.

I can't even get onto any servers as it doesn't find any and already I know I won't be buying this - SP only I'm afraid.
 
Its very rare for a demo to improve much when its hit's release date so if they said this was a BETA I could understand but even then would be worried about paying full price for it........ So many other games worthy of your time/money what a shame :eek: I had high hopes for this as well :( Steam forums & several other places are currently alive with negative vibe as well its not just the peeps here ;)
 
The demo is the 360 one theyve ported and been demoing mp on since october time for 360 i read somewhere, so obviously isnt going to be as polished. smart gun is epic just hold left mouse and let rip haha
 
Ughh was all set to grab this then i read this thread. Waaaaaaaaay too many negative impressions, will wait and see how the full release is but this ain't looking good :(
 
Had a quick go. Was fun, scary a bit tho was overlit really imo. Was a marine. Btw it says at start the demo is tech limited dx10, and dx11 and eyefinity is in full game only. Was disapointed as thought was sp and mp demo. Wanted to play on my own a bit first.
