AvP MP demo is live

I was really looking forward to playing this after work today, but it seems that I might be in for huge disappointment. Quite annoyed as I was getting extremely excited about the potential it has if done well...

Sounds to me like they should have released a demo of the SP and worried about the MP later. MP can always be fixed/tweaked with patches and is usually where a games longevity will lie. SP would be good just to see 1 small level of half level playing as each class to give you a taster without waiting for a game for 30minutes.

I'll post my thoughts on it later tongiht.
 
Bah why didn't I see this this morning before I left for work.

The max speed I can dl at is..... wait for it..... 160kb/s.... pause for laughter..... so, I guess I will have to get it while I sleep sometime tonight.:(

Same here mate, i really hope i am not disappointed when the full version comes out as i am a massive fan of both the films and the games...

I will try the MP demo, as maybe then if that is crap to me playing the full game wont be so disappointing :(
 
No dedicated servers for a online only demo?!
They might as well not bothered, a much better idea would be to take the single player first level of the game with near finished code and release that as the demo!
 
Oh wow, it is just awful! I finally got into a game (After 30 mins) and the graphics are the same as AVP2 give or take (seriously the graphics are terrible) and it has that laggy consoley mouse thing going on like far cry 2. DO NOT BUY!!!!!

I know it's not fair to judge a demo, but seriously. And they have the ordasity to use a game lobby as a demo, as if PC gamers weren't already cuting their balls off with rage over the MW2 issue AVP comes along and laughs in our faces.

YUK!!!
 
Rebellion games have not made a good game in years,

Rogue warrior and shellshock some of there latest "efforts" did we realy expect it to be any different.
 
Just wondering for the ppl who are still getting searching for game, if they allowed it thru thier firewall, when i tried it last night, it kept seraching so i alt+tab out and saw that windows firewall window was up so i had to allow it and got a game about 1 min later.
 
Kronin - yeah mate I got the firewall popup, but then allowed it through. Maybe there are specific ports that need to be forwarded on the router as well?

I was thinking that.

I had become quite excited about this release having seen loads of videos and whatnot but decided to hold off until the demo because I was wary from seeing recent Rebellion releases, hoped it wouldn't be the case. :(
 
I'm not very impressed at all, textures seem repetitive and bland, game play quite boring. Maybe its because I'm crap at Alien, but I didn't enjoy it at all, especially as I keep walking on walls when I didn't want to.

I don't think I'll be buying.
