I wonder what would happen if perez was, let's say, leading the final race. Ahead in the WDC. And max was behind him. Where the position swap would switch the WDC.

Would he do it?

He's fairly rich isn't he? So if you had a WDC chance and team said 'move over'.. I doubt he'd do it? Can you imagine the fallout!

I do think MV is the better driver and he will win out over the season. It is reminiscent of NR and LH at Mercedes though.

I think he'd ignore the call to be honest, and be sacked about 10 mins later by Marko

Marko would press the red "critical car failure" button for Perez's car just before the final corner. ;)

It would depend on the situation I guess, in the unlikely event you'd have a three way shootout for the title*. If for example Perez was doing is tyre whisperer thing and found himself leading, while on fresher tyres Verstappen was quickly coming up with Leclerc on his tail, then it would be reasonable to ask Perez to move over and ideally hold off Leclerc. It would be equally understandable if he ignored them.

* Off the top of my head that's only happened twice since dropped scores were scrapped for 1991. 2007 (Raikkonen, Hamilton, Alonso) and 2010 (Vettel, Webber, Alonso, Hamilton).

Prior to 1991 it had happened a few times due to various dropped points rules, reliability and even drivers taking over the cars of a teammate.

Ideally Verstappen and Leclerc would fail to finish some races and Sainz and Perez would finish a few one and two. Then when all are relatively level on points, the Mercedes come on strong and win the remaining races, leaving the actual title contenders to battle for the scraps.

Mick stopped due to a power failure, oddly they seem to be recovering him under VSC rather than red flagging.

Merc doesn't seem to be porpoising, but ridiculously stiff suspension is bouncing over all the bumps. Can't help but feel that the increased restrictions on suspension systems this year were a mistake; all the cars seem unreasonably stiff this year. Sainz also complaining.

That porpoising - absolutely ridiculous. There needs to be something done to allow the teams to fix this because it's gotta be a health issue.

Was going to say not much porpoising but that Ferrari is awful. The others seem to be bouncing because ridiculously stiff suspension can't soak the bumpy track at all.

Williams having brake issues or just usual Latifi shenanigans?

Engine problems - probably electrics rather than mechanical.
