Its in Merc's interest currently to play up the issue in the hope of forcing the FIA to intervene and force teams to run higher ride heights presumably with the idea it'll hurt other teams performance.
Zero sympathy for them, if other teams can work around it, then they should too, even if it costs them laptime
Yep me to . They had equal time and resources to develop the car .

Redbull are definitely running a higher ride height and the whole floor pan just seems stiffer .

But they can't work it out, most teams have similar problems. Do we wait until something safety related does happen ?

Except, they haven't. They got significantly less CFD and wind tunnel time due to winning the constructors championship.

As I said in my original post, it isn't just Mercedes ...

But they are currently the only ones loudly moaning about it, other teams are working around it fine.
4 weeks ago Merc were confident they had a handle on it and could work around it (Spain) - now they realise they don't they've started playing up the back issues

Oh there is definately gamesmanship going on, i would expect it from any of the top/former top teams. Lets be honest, if Red Bull had made a lemon, they'd be screaming from the roof tops as well. I would however prefer they just raise the height rather than sacrifice the long term health of their drivers for the sake of said gamesmanship.

Fair play to RB fantastic car and reliable, ferrari reliability is shocking. Merc car is terrible their engineering process is flawed. The other teams are worse actually.
So my conclusion is the new cars haven't made racing closer, the cost cap etc won't close the field up, it will stop merc catching RB or ferrari fixing their engines. The engine limit is going to cause yet more ferrari trouble.

F1 needs to make the whole package much cheaper and simpler. I guess that might come with the new engine formula sometime in the future.

It's not true that Red Bull don't have problems, their car is also bouncing around horribly. Watch the flappy wing video, the whole care is moving around. It's not as bad as Ferrari and Mercedes porpoising but the car is extremely rough riding. The problem isn't just ground effect it's that the new tyres no longer soak up the bumps and the new suspension rules mean they have less ability to compensate for that than they used to. It's not just Ferrari and Merc drivers calling for change, drivers up and down the grid have complained about the impact of the cars on their health.

If F1 wants to run at tracks like Monaco and Baku, it has to do something to solve the problem. This is simply not okay.

On sky now, every driver had said something has to be done about this bouncing .... Except Alonso :D
Exactly. Porpoising is affecting everyone. Go look at the F1 Instagram channel where they posted the helmet cam from Leclerc I think it was. You could barely see from the bouncing. Of course teams that are doing well won’t be complaining as much publicly. But I’m sure the physios and trainers are having serious meetings with the bosses about it.

If they start dictating that all teams have to have x ride height then this season is ruined. Drivers might be noting it but merc are currently the worse off bc of their appalling design. It would basically be giving them a massive advantage going into the later half of the season.

Maybe having a g limit or something would be better in that it forces teams to change where its impacting them the greatest rather than penalising everyone on the grid.
