Bad Company 2 Tips :)

Sorry but I fail to the see the point if theres no visual marker, how is it useful?

You just give a shout usually, so its not really all that useful. Except if I hear someone shout "Tank!" I know to get out of the road. You still get a "spot assist" if someone kills the thing you spot though.

You don't like spotting in normal? Then don't press Q, problem solved.

I didnt say I didn't like spotting. But given that Tefal made such a sweeping generalisation about the skill of people who like to play in hardcore mode, I was simply making the point that similar generalisations can be made of softcore player skill. Where's the skill in having an ammunition counter? Or a minimap? Or glowing enemy player indicators? Or crosshairs floating on your screen?

HC is for people who can't aim.

See above. You get crosshairs in SC mode. Making it considerably easier to aim.

You don't even have to bother aiming in HC, just spray in their direction to get a kill, where's the skill in that?

Yeah, you could do that. But you'll soon be dead while you're reloading. Or find your aim going way off target unless your at point blank range.

I was simply saying that Im the sort of player who prefers a more tactical experience. HC mode gives me that. I can use short bursts of fire to take people down. Remember also, there's the other side of the coin with HC - you die quicker. Which encourages me to move from cover to cover, which feels more realistic to me. It makes me feel vulnerable and actually fear that dash across a street to tag an MCOM or to sit in the open for too long. The whole thing just feels much more tactical and less like running and gunning in my opinion.

So no, HC isnt just "for people who cant aim", it just for those of us who like a different style of play.

I find the best sniper rifle is the silenced one that takes 3 shots to kill *cant remember its name*.

You can really create havoc with this weapon, ACOG when using it in a squad, works really well.

I like the m24 due to it being a great all round package, fast reload, accurate and damage is good. The m95 is great for damage, but very slow to reload. My recon weapon of choice theese days though is the g3 with x4 scope.

My choice of class is highly dependent on the map and if you are attacking or defending etc.
You'll bring in a lot of points on a rush game if you are attacking using the medic to support your team, (smoke launcher with the assult also helps when planting the MCOMS)
Vehicle heavy maps usually pay to go engineer, either put some tank mines down in unobvious places such as rivers or grassy areas that you think tanks might go rolling through.
In areas with lots of buildings i find going assult with the shotgun attachment works wonders. Never really been a huge fan of the reacon class but if i'm going to use reacon i tend to use the VSS generally in defensive maps.

Just no. Killing Floor has no crosshairs either and its pretty easy to get used to where the centre of your screen is. As for people who can't, well they're the players who put small transparent marks in the middle of there screen so they know where it is (don't try and tell me people don't do it). And theres always iron sights.

Whatever though, I think it's a bit rich of him to be making statements like that when the SC players are the ones who get crosshairs. Hence my retort.

And anyone who is going to lengths such as marks on their physical screen to get around game mechanics is a bit of a loser. I remember the days of DoD when there were arguments about people doing that :p

A considerably longer reload for a minor increase in damage (that has very little effect) and no difference in accuracy?

The only people who use the M95 are either trying to plat it because they've done the rest or are in denial.
Or could it be that the only people who use the M95, properly, are the ones who can use it properly and it suits their play style somewhat?

It would be better if the M95 was a more effective anti-material rifle, but I don't think the damage model is really up to it right now. I'd love to blast the tail rotor off a spawn-spamming Apache and watch him spin off into oblivion :D

^Very true, the damage models for the weapons in bc2 are way off, shotguns/sub machine guns that can kill you from right across the map, ump being a great example. With the m95 being a .50 cal rifle, it should be a 1 shot kill weapon regardless of mode, hardcore or normal. No one should be able to run on after being hit with the bullet that theese things fire.

... no I'm still not getting it.

I'm trying to figure out the difference in playstyles between 2 snipers, 1 of whom uses the M24 and the other who uses the M95. The only difference I can think of is that the M95 user has to hide for longer between shots, because otherwise they are basically the same gun with identical playstyles.

You're just in denial.

there is slightly less drop with the m95 so it;'s more usueful for new players if they havn't learn to judge drop.
