well the L70S is a nice monitor and is on more of a budget range.

my personal favourites at the mo for any 17inch TFT's are: Samsung 172X, Hyundai Q17+, LG1720B......have a shop round and see if u can get them. if you're def buying from OCUK, then perhaps look at the Viewsonic VX715 too, but i would personalyl try and track down one of those 3 i listed if you can, theyre beauties! :)

EDIT: regarding DVI and lack of, read the front page of this thread about it, rather than me rehasing the same answer as there

thanks for your help m8 :D :D

I see this ones on offer now to !

Too many choices

nice, but id go for the G model with DVI aswell if it were me. Planning on adding the Sharp to this thread soon, but there are still a few TFT's which are top of my list ahead of the sharp which i would get instead if it were me

Cheers Bad

one TFT can be a standard connector as no dvi on the pc.

so its the best <16ms 17" TFT on a budget......ie as close to £200 as possible incl the bl00min vat !

L70S could be the one if neither of the 2 on offer this week at Oc.......

Is TCO 03 compliance worthwhile / needed ?

we did see a 1720B yesterday - nice looking monitor but was over £300 by some margin !

well the L70S is nice too, but no DVI on that one. if you're running dual, then get a TFT with DVI so you can run one on both. on a budget, the Sharp, Hyundai L70S are my two tops. if you wanna stretch a little more then Samsung 172X, Hyundai Q17+ and LG1720B are my tops :)

ive seen the Lg1720B for £275 ish, but again, no DVI on that either.....

cheers, no DVI on er' indoors pc wont be a problem.

some gaming / net use only.

so i think the L70S could fit the requirement.....or the on offer Sharp A model as again DVI not necessary.

i'd like a DVI one which will support dual monitor, although the chances of affording that before 2010 are slim ! :p

TCO 03 ? (its prob in the thread and i've missed it!)

Next i'll be asking you about the 19" 8ms Hyundai on Oc now :D ;)

just done a massive rehaul of the main content of this thread to include new models, new info and links, and also remove all the older models from the page which are no longer really relevant.

Just ordered the VX715 - will give you guys some comments after a little use.

I hope its good though - if it is at that price i'll be ordering another one in Jan :)

New Samsung 193p Review
Good for those that arnt soley response time minded...
Still the most stylish and well built Ive seen, but perhaps Im being biased.

Good Review

Hopefully Samsung in 2005 will give us a 20"+ widescreen version based on its styling/build quality with a below 16ms response time.

thanks for that

reading through them both, they seems to have quite contradicting views to one another even though it is the same TFT, just one has DVI and one doesnt!! lol, oh well, at least there are some views on it which might be useful to ppl
