**Baddass' Ultimate TFT FAQ and Reviews! (20" and Above Models)**

What do you'll think has best viewing angles, since its important for me as I use my PC to watch a lot of DVD's. I really want to get the Herc, but certain comments put me off it.!:(

The Herc review from toms harware is not of the same monitor as the one OCUK are selling. It is the exact same monitor as the the 920DVi but with VGA. The one that Tomshardware reviewed was the vanilla 920, not the 920Pro which has a better contrast ratio (500:1, instead of 430:1) and the 920pro only comes in black. Afaik they don't sell the one reviewed at toms hardware so take the DVi and minus the possible advantages of DVi. It is pin sharp, I can't see how the image quality could get any better.

Faq's great though, when I bought this herc it took me a week of research, if only this faq had been here, time saved :)

Well to me that sounds kind of sucky lol. Won't that rule out like 80 percent of people who were going to buy it?.

I know after reading that i would not get one unless the review is wrong.

Do you own this then yeah? Do you recommend it? I want to order it this week.

I do own it, well if I were a counter-strike geek I'd say it owned me :P

It is a quality monitor, the auto adjust on it is a bit dodgy, i.e. sometimes you will have to manually adjust the phase, but it is pin sharp and looks the dogs.

Shouldnt put much store in THG review tho, they are one of the least reliable hardware sites around.

Easily biased and not always know what they talking about.

But good sticky :)

but they are one of the few places who compare several monitors together.........and not just review one on it's own. They are the best info we have atm so until some more good reviews come along we'll ahve to make do......at least they test whats important (ie games and dVD's) :)

Any word on when oc.uk will be stocking the sammys? if at all now. It would be useful to get some user reviews, rather than website reviews.

definitely, as soon as some users on here get hold of the Sammys ill try and add any comments/views into this sticky....same goes for all the other TFT's. If there's any news stuff to add, i will do :)

so have you guys read this 12ms vs 16ms two different panels going to be used in the 172x?? all panels sold up to christmas will supposedly be the 16ms panel that tomshardware reviewed, then in Q1 2004 a new 12ms samsung panel will be used instead....

I still cant decide on the Acer or Hyundai! need to go seem them in the flesh...

hmm im torn between the Herc DVI and the viewsonic.

viewsonic "looks" much better, and i love the fact you can rotate etc, but im in a high ranking CS clan and worry about the gaming side of things.

The Acer looks great - just got mine, no dead pixels or noticable ghosting - very pleased with it.

The LED on the power is blue, but the digicam, poor lighting and dodgy energy saving lighbult conspired to make it look purple...

do you have a high res. picture of that? I'm just wondering what the speaker grills look like, but when you resized it they've been distorted somewhat...
