I got my hands on one.....

Hi guys 'n' gals,

first up i want to say thx to Baddass for his most excellent post.....i currently use a Hitachi 17" tft and have bundled it with a new system i am building for a friend so knowing that things have probably changed over the last 6 months on the tft front i came hear to find out which tft to go for next.....i saw all the good reports about the Herc & Hyundai.......so i plummed for a Herc....did a little phoning around and thankfully have secured one for next week......albiet for £400 inc p&p but if it is as good as u guys say it is then the extra £25 is worth it.....they are out there if u look hard enough.....

The guy from samsung phoned back this morning at about 9:30 lol :>. He said that it was definately a 12ms panel (172x), but isnt available atm. He said they should be out within the next couple of months :o
 
Great post, great reviews.

I just picked up a 920pro DVI. Really nice much better than my 15" sony.

Just though I'd say that this review helped and I even bough it from this site.
 
That truly sucks... I own one of their 920 pro 17inch LCDs and I was thinking of getting another one in a couple of months...

I can't have a 2 different LCDs! How much do you think a second hand one would fetch, considering they're quite popular?

Thats never going to be sold in any great quantity. I don't believe Overclockers will be able to get any.

And after easter, I'm either going to put my LCD up for sale, or start looking for a second one.
 
updated the sticky to include the BenQ 767 V2 and 767 12, also the LG 1020B :D hope the new info helps........trying to keep all the info on here up to date and relevant as much as poss, so let me know if u think anything needs changing or adding
 
Just to say, great work from all involved. Very very useful and saves trawling endless mostly useless reviews.

Will be purchasing a Q17 very soon though OcUK are not the cheapest :(
 
They were some Sony speakers that came with my Sony Minidisc stereo system. I never used it cos I put all music on mp3 so I got a PC amp thing and plugged them into that so I could listen to my music through decent stereo speakers but using my PC. I have since got a home cinema system though and plugged my PC into that so they are now plugged back into the stereo system in my mum and dads lounge :) The sterero is now 4 years old so I guess you can't get them anymore but I have seen similar speakers around in Hifi shops for sale on their own :cool:

Hyundai - colour goes against it as its mainly silver, also styling isnt as nice IMHO as the Herc. Good features such as USB speakers and headphone socket.

LG - The other one I'm considering is the stylish LG monitor, downside on that is that it doesnt have a DVI connector. My graphics card only has DVI(though I do have an adaptor).


Other than the considerations above is there anything I'm missing on these monitors. On aesthetics alone I'm edging towards the LG, on features the Hyundai.

I saw the LG in Comet this afternoon and it's a very classy looking TFT. Mind you, I can't believe that such a new model doesn't have DVI - I've ruled it out of my shortlist for this reason!

Hi

I'm new here and just wanted to say how great this thread/sticky is. It really helped me a lot. Am going for the Hyundai ImageQuest Q17 from oc'uk.

A lot of hard work went in to this and it is greatly appreciated.

Did you manage to find out if the current batch of Q17s have Hydis or Au Optronics screens?
