cool a TFT screen thread, i'm looking at buying two TFT screens for my computer but i need it for games, 3D modelling etc... I'm looking at the CTX S730 and the Hercules Prophetview 920 Pro. Obviously i'd be buying 2 the same ;)

The CTX has 16ms response time but i can't find a single review on them :S but i'm tempted as i have a CTX EX710F crt at the moment and thats an awsome monitor.

any advise would be great :)

oops

lol nice answer i take that means their bad then :P, well fortunatly now i've been told the CTX ones are crap, and that the iiyama Proliet E431S is good so a couple of those should go down a treat

Has anyone got a link to a decent review of the iiyama ProLite341S tft screens, apart from StuRReal I've not seen them mentioned here before.....

PC Pro reviewed one and it's their current A-list TFT. I was going to get 2 but can't find them anywhere and so have ordered 2 LG 1800PK's instead (the previous PC Pro A lister)

I like my hercules so much, that once I get the money i'm gonna get the DVI version (in addiction to my current VGA) and wall mount them both. Unfortunately the bezel is a bit wide, but not all that important.

great thread this :)

well after much deliberation I ordered a Hyundai 17" TFT last week and am expecting it today (the waiting is killing me)

I current use a 15" Samsung TFT and am hoping to be pleased by the Hyundai, I'll let you guys know my findings.

Chao - for now

Hi people.

This is now my 2nd post here - woohoo! Seeing as I've learnt so much from the forums here and this thread in particular, I thought I'd shre my experiences as well.

As I posted above, I have recently got myself a Hyundai Q17 TFT monitor. I have been trying to decide between the Hercules and this one and went for this as personally, I didn't much fancy the styling of the Herc.

Reading reviews around the web lead chiefly to confusion because everyone has differeing opinons. As I am upgrading from a Samsung 15" TFT with 25ms response time, I wanted to make sure that I was getting something for my money, i.e. a worthy upgrade for my hard earned cash.

25ms response time was ok for games. Only in very fast FPS games did I notice the screen was having problems displaying quickly enough. The Q17 is rated as 20ms and having bashed around in Call of Duty, I can say that it definitely handles much better than my previous screen. Coupled with the increased size, I'm a happy bunny.

I haven't put the herc through it's paces but it's apparently the same TFT screen inside as the hyundai so I doubt there can be much difference. I would be interested in checking out a 16ms TFT as well, but general opinion seems to be that some of the 20ms TFT's are actually faster than the 16ms TFT's....

It has no dead pixels (Hyundai will replace for 3 dead pixels). It also feels very sturdy and solid, which makes me think that it's well build. It has both DVI and analogue inputs as well as 2 usb ports and speakers.

here's a little pic:

Apologies for the length of this post. If anyone has any questions regarding this monitor, feel free to ask.

if thats genuinely 14ms then thats class leading atm! but it could be measured totally different from other manufacturers. Still, might be a new one for ppl to consider, like it wasnt hard enough already :)

Has anyone actually seen or tried the new NEC 2080UX+, as it claims a 16ms response time.

Plus I've seen/used an NEC 1760NX and its perfect for gaming, and would really like to know if the NEC 2080UX+ is up to the same standard.

Thanks.

no, not really, none of the TFT's listed as the main part of this thread do resolutions over 1280x1024, to get a TFT with 1600 res, ur looking at a MUCH more expensive screen and probably a 19inch model aswell
