Bahrain Grand Prix 2012, Sakhir - Race 4/20

I for some reason, am still amazed at Mclarens ability to mess up everything nearly every time! Lewis must have been seeing red after those two stops!

Even though Mclaren did bad it was still an overall exciting race, lots going on, lots of overtaking.

Jesus, come on Sky, you can come up with better features than wandering into an empty garage surely...

The Sky coverage has been, in my opinion, god awful so far this season.

The pinnacle for me was them handing out ice creams and totally ignoring Whitmarsh last week. It just looked poor.

The last few years I've watched every bit of the F1, every practice, all of the Quali and Race build ups and the forums. This year I watch the actual Quali sessions on a 20 minute delay so that I can skip the junk in between sessions and the race. Apart from that I wind through it all looking for interviews with anyone other than Vettel or Horner.

I don't think they messed up. 4 pit stop errors, over two cars. All rear left. I think they have a problem and need a redesign on nut/thread/gun.

Phillip Maddocks on Twitter:‏ "Three points separating the top five drivers in the Championship, this is going to be a cracking and unpredictable season!"

1) Sebastian Vettel - Red Bull - 53
2) Lewis Hamilton - McLaren - 49
3) Mark Webber - Red Bull - 48
4) Jenson Button - McLaren - 43
5) Fernando Alonso - Ferrari - 43

Don't think that this Philip Maddocks is going to be winning any awards for his mathematical abilities any time soon..

I like how the speed of the FIA's decision usually depends on where Hamilton is at the time, if he is pushing for, or in the lead they'll give him a drive through there and then, if he is further behind they will wait 'til after the race to work out the best way to damage his chances of winning the drivers championship..

Paranoid much? there is no question about Lewis getting a penalty.

Lol, you know that was because Whitmarsh already had one hidden behind his back because he was eating it before they grabbed him for an interview, right?

Yup, and he wasn't continuing to eat it on the screen while he was doing his interview or parading it on the camera. He got on with the interview while the main presenter was more interested in making sure everyone on screen had their ice cream and ignoring Whitmarsh.

It looked tacky.

I think your searching to deeply for stuff to moan about. Theres far bigger fish to fry.

For me the main issue was the fact that Sky were out the back with Whitmarsh talking about Ice Creams while the BBC crew were in the Mercedes garage getting interviews with Rosberg, Brawn and Haug while the whole team were celebrating.

But people have to remember, the BBC coverage is in its 4th year, they have been doing this for a while. Sky are only in their 4th race. They will improve over time. Remember, the BBC started out with Leggard...

True, but then Sky stole half the BBC team so it's not like they are all rookies.

They stole some presenters, I doubt very much they stole many, if any at all, people from 'behind the scenes' who actually produce the show and decide where to be and what to talk about.

From the front end the issues are Georgie and Simon, but I think there is far more to be gained from improving the whole production of the show in all areas, which I'm sure they are working on.
