They really have. Even if it is due to debris, they should be stronger - we haven't seen that much damage to cause debris. Most of the debris is FROM the tyres anyway!

Why would they do that?
They have built tyres to spec.
It's the FIA who have dictated what they have to supply.

So it seems like vettel got the cherry picked tyres this weekend and massa got the lemons. I wonder if Williams will get a cherry picked set this season like last season on frank Williams's birthday.

The spec to increase racing, not to create tyres that puncture too easily.

It'll all comes down to the same thing. As to do one you almost certainly have to change other things. To get that much tyre shards you have to be losing strength, then there's making the sidewals softer etc.
They are very much capable of producing indestructible tyres like Bridgestone, but that's not the contract.
