Bahrain Grand Prix 2013, Sakhir - Race 4/19

It'll all comes down to the same thing. As to do one you almost certainly have to change other things. To get that much tyre shards you have to be losing strength, then there's making the sidewals softer etc.
They are very much capable of producing indestructible tyres like Bridgestone, but that's not the contract.

Do they? I am not a tyre engineer, but surely durability (the surface layer of rubber) and the strength of the tyre (construction underneath) are different things.

Is this some sort of new unannounced rule that the FIA won't dish any punishments out during the race anymore? Seems like everything no matter when it occurs is looked at at the end!

Toe biggest rule changes I want to see.

1) Get rid of DRS full stop.
2) any ruling has to be given with in 10laps, it's like they don't have several cameras and telemetry.

They don't need to speak to drivers, you can see their steering, throttle and another dozen inputs,

Partly, but the rubber must add strength to the carcass. There's also been a lot of wing and wheel touching this race. All though you would have to check if any off those are a factor.
Sidewall stiffness is very much structural and perfomance, so there's parts you can't separate.
