I imagine that's because of 2 reasons.According to Steam, only 20% of players finish BG3.
I imagine that's because of 2 reasons.
First is that as a single player game, due to its length, it could get a bit boring and over whelming towards even act 2, that you may give up. I don't know how people play it single player given each fight you have to organise all 4 characters.
The other being that for those playing it in coop, it's a lengthy game, and to find time to play it is one thing, but if you jsut got together and played it 1/2 evenings a week, it would take months to finish, and by then you could easily forget where and what you were doing.
I played with my partner over the Xmas break, and if it hasn't been for that big gap of nothing to have to do for 2 odd weeks, I don't know how we'd have got it done
more than 2 weeks but we had the bulk done within that time. it over ran into the new year, and then caused problems as we wanted to finish it.You finished the game in 2 weeks? It's taken me 3 months.

Also, cant remember the exact number now but the vast majority don't even get out of act 1.
Going to start soon playing this soon![]()
Considering how long it took you to do horizon I can't see you finishing this this year
I'm not into D&D or these type of games but wanted something to play as I was bored.I really need to try and revisit this. I played about an hour. First main encounter went crap for me and that annoyed me so I turned it off lol.
Depends very much on the DM and campaign you play. Typically you run through a hardback adventure (of which there are loads!) so there's a consistent story to follow and whilst you can do anything you'll probably find yourself guided gently back to the correct path. From what I gather dnd games are very open for you to decide to do whatever you want? I prefer games that have a bit more guard rails personally, but I'm sure I'd still have a great time playing dnd with a good dm. Games like gloomhaven imo are more appealing
Are there platforms online that facilitate this ? ( beyond just using Discord ). Has anyone here played Demeo ... it's a DnD lite co-op dungeon crawler ? Can be played in VR too.Depends very much on the DM and campaign you play. Think of it perhaps more like a Hitman game - a scenario presented and a task to accomplish and you get to choose if you go loud/quiet/talk your way out of things etc.
Happy to run something for the curious in here. Single session adventure (3 - 4 hours) with pre-made characters all online![]()
