Baldur's Gate 3

Performance in act 3 is definitely lower performance and I don't think it's the alt/tab bug. Some quests can bug out and it also feels a bit overwhelming with the amount of side quests you have to follow along with trying to decide the order of doing them.

Another point that ticked me off:

So you finally get to break wylls contract but everyone disapproves? Wtf? Should he sign his soul over to a devil because of his fathers temporary situation? It's so bizzare! They even almost mock him when you talk to them after. I was so annoyed I read up on it and apparently you can save his father anyway if you do it right!

heads up, in act 3 you should read up on the "stop the press" quest as it is quite bugged and you have to do it in a specific way.

I also think they should have disabled interaction with named npcs if you don't have to use them for anything because clicking on them all just to check you haven't missed out anything is tiring. I thought checking all the objects for loot was bad.

Same!

Worst one is the Forge level with that Golem, I would've stopped playing for good!
What was funny about that for me was, the mechanic for making him vulnerable was obvious to me but I didn't realise you could use the environment to kill it. It took a couple of tries because I had everything on cool down but I did it anyway and got an achievement out of it, lol.

For me I used the slam technique as I was making a new mold for armour or sword. Pull the lever and it comes down squashing the golem. The only problem is, on the first try it caused 120 damage then never worked again, second re-load and no damage was caused. So frustrating! Did it in the end, about 10 times in

Does anyone else think HDR looks bad in this (washed out, raised blacks)? I have tried using the YouTuber Gaming Tech's settings of 200 brightness and 1.25 contrast and although that makes blacks look better colours become oversaturated, I just can't get it looking right. I have an LG C1 OLED and an RTX 3080.

I wasn't even aware it supported it as I saw nothing in the options.
TBF it's not really a game I would enable it on either.

My monk was able to do ~150 damage in turn 1 before the golem went ham and started killing everyone

After several restarts I killed it in 3 turns with most of the dmg from the monk and letting spirit weap get the last hit in so it went after that. Also keeping Gale out of range so it didn't cancel his haste buff. Didn't have bludgeoning weap for Karlach which likely would have helped too. Didn't evern realise could slam him!

Only dx 11 seems to support hdr. I don't think hdr looks amazing in this game but it does work

My thing on this was just go with the rolls for story decisions, but I'm forever having to reload fights as I just don't seem very good.

Doesn't help that I don't really have a tank type person in my party. I have yet another bug where Lae'zel doesn't join even when you ask and she says so am stuck with me (Rogue), Cleric, Wizard and Warlock

Did you ask someone to stay at camp first, then ask her to join?

Yep.

I have encountered more game stopping (and breaking) bugs in this than anything else I have played recently.

Don't get me wrong, i'm enjoying the game but it does seem like it's getting a 'pass' for this from lots of people who have complained about other titles being launched in a buggy state.

Left one is orc, Maybe Garrosh but the rest look like generic fantasy characters. Though I haven't played wow since Mists of Pandaria so maybe they are characters from new expansions I don't know

Ummmm middle one sort of illidan. No idea on the rest.
It's basically henry cavill in the witcher series. But yeah as I'm playing it makes me think of wow, and there doesn't seem to be that much variety in the faces. edit: duh you were referring to the middle top hah, the one below it looks like cavill

You enable it within Windows first and then the HDR calibration setting shows up in the game. I've been messing about with it and 1.12 contrast seems better for me, the game's contrast setting does boost the peak brightness above what you've set in the first calibration screen though so you have to be careful (tested with WCG HDR image viewer).

I'll see how I get on but I may end up sticking with SDR, I wish these developers would just use the Windows HDR calibration app profile if available.
