'Band of Brothers' is just astonishing

Is that still happening? Been years since that was supposed to be happening.

think its still in the writing phase, I saw this about a year ago in the comments on a youtube video - he is writing / researching for it still

John Orloff (He wrote the Band of Brothers TV series too)

"Writing the scripts now! (I'm writing them all) Huge scale, really ambitious! We're all really excited about it."
" these mini's take time! Band was 5 years, Pacific 6. This one is taking even longer because Don's book is about all of the 8th, and we can't do that. We focus only on a certain group in Don's book; that meant I had to learn what those men did other than the incidents Don writes about (that took almost a year of research creating a 250 page "bible"). Plus, this time, there is only one writer (me), which means the scripts have to be written one at a time, rather than several at the same time! But I assure you, it has never lost any momentum! Check out twitter.com/johnorloff to see a pic of the bible!"

Watched this for the first time early this year, was very impressed with it.
Dunno why it took me so long to get round to it. Amazing how many actors I could spot in it.
Excellent, show and will definitely watch again.

Also watched the Pacific, but not quite as good.

Very much looking forward to the The Mighty Eighth!

It's probably been mentioned but I got around to watching Generation War (Unsere Mutter, unsere Vater) last night on Netflix, a 3 part mini-series affectionately referred to as the German B.o.B.

Brilliant and just as powerful.

Not sure why I've never watched this series before, had seen 1 later episode many years back, but just binging it today.
Absolutely great TV.

Edit: Stunning show. Those last 2 episodes are just amazing.

I've just rewatched Band of Brothers again and the scene when Easy Company comes across the first camp is so extremely moving and grim, but also so extremely well filmed as well. It was even more moving after I earlier this week had been to the Shoes on Danube exhibition/memorial in Budapest.

Rewatched this over the last few weeks. Really enjoyed it, such a good series. I don't think I've watched it in the last 6/7 years so had forgotten quite a few little bits. I think I prefer the first half of the series in terms of action scenes but the latter half is much more gripping in terms of "story". I doubt they ever well but a 4K version of this would be epic. The surround sound is excellent but the picture is starting to look dated. I know it's got a deliberate grain effect on it but the image is quite soft at a lot of points.
