Bands you wish were better known

I like both of those and never heard of them so will definitley listen to more of their stuff.

For me, I like the Arctic Monkeys and when they first came out I looked into similar bands. One that stood out was Milburn - formed long before AM. I think it's fair to say they must have inspired the Arctic Monkeys :

Check out Joe Carnall and The Book Club, that's what the lead of Milburn went on to do, and Tom Rowley went on to be in Reverend & The Makers.

Milburn took Arctic Monkeys out on their UK tour which is what raised their profile massively at the time.

I wish more people knew about Acid Mothers Temple ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acid_Mothers_Temple ). There's probably around 60 albums of theirs floating around, and a lot of them are admittedly just really challenging noise, but a good amount of it is just pure awesome. In fact I'm listening to one of their albums now, one song, an hour and five minutes long :p

The Youtube vid I wanted to put up was the song La Novia but there isn't one, it's 45 mins long so I guess that might have something to do with it... amazing song though, very hypnotic and meditative/trancey. I'd recommend grabbing the album (of the same name) if you by some miracle find it, it's frankly beautiful.

Here's something I did find though, basically space rock:

I Keep bringing this thread back from the dead but I just can't help it, I've been working from home today and listening to some old Albums that I haven't had on in a while and had to recomend this to you all.

Matthew Jay a brilliant singer song writer sadly died just as it looked like he would make it, the music speaks for itself he really was a talent.

Thread revival!

One of the finest bands of the nineties and criminally underrated in my opinion were Pele.

From Liverpool they released just two albums before splitting after a dispute with their record label - 'Fireworks' & 'Sport Of Kings'

I recently rediscovered my copy of Fireworks after having thought I'd lost it in a house move, not having heard it for a good few years I was blown away by how good it was, now if I could only find my copy of their second album..

Holy Thread revival Batman!

Sorry but I just can't let this thread go I keep stumbling accross little gems that I want to share! Bit of an obscure one this time a British Singer Songwriter based out of Nashville USA called Josh Doyle who one or two of you may recognise as the former front man of the band Dum Dums anyway he's grown up and mellowed out and is recording some amazing stuff which he is then self releasing.
