HangTime said:Heskey was actually fairly strongly linked to Arsenal when he was at Leicester. I think he's the sort of player that thrives on confidence and needs to be the 'main man', which is why he never really succeeded for big teams (Liverpool/England). There were some times at Leicester when he looked almost unplayable - pace, power and even reasonable ball control and finishing!
Anyway, there's some players at Brum on big money who they might be prepared to offload, and it wouldn't suprise me to see clubs like Wigan sniffing about.
GLENN Roeder has said it's a case of "wait and see" after Michael Owen admitted his foot didn't feel 100 per cent right after his 30-minute comeback for Newcastle United in the goalless draw at Birmingham.
The Magpies' record signing was a second half substitute in the stalemate at St. Andrew's, his first action since fracturing a metatarsal in his right foot at Spurs on New Year's Eve.
After Wayne Rooney's injury for Manchester United at Chelsea earlier in the day, there was huge media interest in Owen's condition.
So Roeder, speaking after the game, told Newcastle World they will wait to assess the striker properly and stressed there was no need for frenzied speculation.
He said: "Michael came in after his 30 minute run-out and said he wasn't 100 per cent happy with it.
"He is not saying he is feeling a sharp pain or an excessive pain but he just doesn't fell 100 per cent right.
"There is a little bit of a dull ache there, so he is being honest, as he always is.
"We can't comment any more until his body cools down and the medical team have a look at it between Sunday and Monday.
"If he had had a major problemn he would have put his hand up very quickly and would have had to come off.
"But he didn't, he completed the full 30 minutes and when he got back to the dressing room he spoke to Derek Wright and said it doesn't fell 100 per cent but it's a case of wait and see.
"Of course he is concerned, but he's not overly concerned, and we would be just talking for the sake of talking if we said any more than that.
He's the best young prospect we have had since Gazza.Gooner14 said:http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/...81&headline=gunners-target-zog-name_page.html

JohnnyG said:No matter what everyone thinks of JM & the players, there is no doubt that we deserved the title. An outstanding performance all season from Terry was the main factor I think. He led by example & drove us on when it got a bit rough, the next England captain without a doubt.
JohnnyG said:Quite worying to read that JM almost packed it in twice during the season, the media definitely got to him![]()

Hes young , french and left sided - linked with Arsenal because of the Pires situation I reckon.
I think we will fight hard to keep him after the tribunal we went through after signing him in the first place.
Cost us about £60k from LeHavre![]()
If we let a player like that go then the club truely has no ambition.
