Tbh that's unlikely
Spoken like a true numbnut...
Tbh that's unlikely
Well the engine would be the most valuable thing surely? But it has patchy history so will it be worth much?

things have seriously changed since I left 14 months ago. The cheapest were around the 4k mark!
How come you are so confident?
It's a high mileage, old, French car that you paid £1600 for. Surely it's cheap for a reason?
Wow, is 1500 not a bargain for a 182 anymore??things have seriously changed since I left 14 months ago. The cheapest were around the 4k mark!
Some places will do the belts and pre-tensioners for 300 if you ask around. I'd love a 182 out here![]()

I mean it's unlikely that I will sell it and the belts snap and they come back. Obviously I am going to tell them there is no proof of them being done, and that they will need to be done.
In my experience, whenever you advertise anything for sale you should do so in the most positive light and make it appeal to as many people as possible.
Would it not be a better tactic to sell the car ready to go with everything already done? If I was buying that car I'd want answers as to why things hadn't been done on time. I'd then begin to wonder why these hadn't been done on time. Has the previous owners not looked after the car and stuck to the service schedules?
£2k isn't a lot of money for a car but it's still a lot of money to write off. I'm sure people wouldn't want to take the risk being in the position you could be if the engine components do fail and you are left with a car to sell as parts.
I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but it may be worth asking Renault to check to see if they have any records of work done for the reg. I'd be very surprised if the cam belt hasn't been done as it should have been changed at 72K miles or 5 years (over 2 years ago). I'd be more concerned that the aux belt hasn't been changed recently as it should be on its forth belt (3 changes).
So I've sold the car in order to cut down on outgoings and help out as much as possible here.
