BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

Looks like HDCP support also :)

This isnt the only super dooper large thread around the www ;)

Apparantly prad.de forums has a 106 page thread with just as much details on there.

Basically there are 4 monitors that all look identical, the one on OCUK, this one (Yuraku) and 2 more that are not sold over here (Novita & Iolair). This one is said to be the original, the other 3 are supposedly clones of the Yuraku. All the clones have had TN models appear but this one has not had any.

I borrowed that last part ;)

Tbh its not a major difference if one ordered the dead pixel check would still be little cheaper then ocuk current deal but at least you would know you got a PMVA-HDCP and no dead pixels for your money rather then any lengthy RMA/Exchange process......

Hi Highlander,

You have got an e-mail :)

Nope but im staring at one now with the mouse over the buy button. Means i could afford the Spyder2 aswell!

Only thing that worries me is although it states 180/180 viewing angles, it doesn't expressly state what panel tech is in it. And although they're all *supposed* to be the same, if it's not a PVA i doubt i'l get the same return service Gibbo is offering.

Edit2: Well i've ordered one. If anyone wants to know what it's like it should be here in 1-3 working days. Aslong as that doesn't break any 'competition rules'. Email in trust.

I have asked them whether they would replace TN with PVA should they get it wrong, the answer was negative. Good luck, this might have been simply insurance on their side. You can always use the 7 days cooling period in case it is not right.

Cheers.

Can anyone recommend a wall bracket for this monitor please?

EDIT: Doesn't matter found lots at a good price on the web :)

back goes my 5th or 6th mointor I not really sure i started to lose count lol

I have another one also when i turn it on it flickers a bit when it turns on. anyone else have that problem?

It seems its simlar to the problem i am having this one i am sending back now...

that flickers then goes dead have to switch on and off for ages till it comes on.

I have been hopeing it would fix it self but nope:( the mointor works fine once its on (have had it on for 6days ) as long as i don't turn pc and monitor off.

I also had 4 light dots on backlight but they have all seem to cleared up but there is still a little backlight bleed in corners.

Really not sure if i should go for 6-7th one lol.

Btw, have they weeded out the TN problem at OCUK yet? Sorry, I dont have the time to read the whole thread:p

This problem has been successfullly resolved. In fact OCUK are the only e-retailer that do that replacement. I do not want to mention competitors sites here but I have received a negative answer when asked similar question. They would not replace the monitor unless faulty, i.e. TN is not an issue despite it is against the listed specifications, such as v.h. angles of 180 deg.

What i am wondering is why the price of this monitor has fluctuated by so much. It's been as low as £174.99+VAT and higher than it is now. I'm crap at economics so maybe someone should correct or enlighten me but prices of other monitors stay relatively stable. Is it something to do with volatile supply and demand, exchange rates, varying panel manufacturers or is there something more sinister at hand?! ;)

My eyes don't like this monitor at all, I've had headaches for the past two days from a few hours of use. I feel like I'm constantly straining to read text etc. :(
