BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

I got mine this morning and it's fantastic!! I had a Hyundai W240D but really didn't like the colours and ghosting, this monitor though has the same panel as the BenQ FP241W and it's great! and NO dead pixels either!!! Very Happy!

Yeah definately! I am really impressed with this panel.... the Hyundai had strange colours and very visible inverse ghosting whereas this one I can't see any and the screen is actually better than my Dell 20.1 2007WFP which has a great screen in it too.

my only gripe is the stand does seem a bit wobbly, but it's not too bad.

Oh and also i have it sat right next to my new 24" Aluminium iMac, and it looks great compared to that also, but i think the iMax screen still seems to have better blacks, but i would exppect that from the cost of it.

Grrr your not helping me... now I have to order :P

Had this screen now for 4-5 months and everyone i have shown it too has bought one. For the price you cant beat it, infact if OCuK put one on display, they would sell more as you cant beleive a monitor for £200 ish would be that good, but it is.

i play games on it, watch films and do Photoshop with it, no problems at all.

Only one niggle, that dam blue power light gets anoying at times... but black tape sorts it out :)

Bought a couple of these a few months ago, generally happy with them. Yesterday one of them went bang - called OC just now, they're sending a courier over to get it in the next couple of hours.

All good so far with the exception of one thing - I need to repackage it in its original box for the courier, but it won't fit in with the base stand attached and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to detach the damn thing. How the hell do I remove it? There is no mention of attaching or detaching the base in the manual, and there's no visible clip or spring or anything like that. I don't want to just pull on the damn thing really hard in case that isn't how you're supposed to go about it.

Anyone?

What monitor are you talking about (sorry not been following the thread)?

He’s talking about the OcUK Value L2442WD-VA 24".

I got one and yes it’s a brilliant monitor.

2 questions.

1. I tried pressing the M and + button but I dont get this menu to determine the panel type. Do I hold them down? Or press one before the other or how exactly?

2. When the unit is turned off. I.e. not standby or anything, can you guys hear a faint hissing noise coming from the back of the unit?

As for the second point, the hiss or buzzing when turned off. I had the same problem with mine and as a result it's being picked up tomorrow for repair or replacement. So Digimate will accept it back if you feel it's a problem.

Feel free to e-mail or add me to msn and I'll happily give you some advice on how to return it, details in sig and trust.

But how long have you had your panel for can I ask Speed? And did this hissing sound just come up or was it there from the beginning?

Do you think I should replace it? Its not a loud hissing noise its ever so faint and only heard if you bring your ears up close

I've had it since about the 20th of August and yes as far as I can tell it was like it from the start. It's quite a well known problem that some of these panels have. I only really noticed it when I got a second panel a few days later and was messing about with them. One had it and one didn't.

The first panel I purchased was actually purchased for a Birthday present for my Sister, who has it in her room while sleeping and there's no real way to access the power switch. So the replacement was nessasarry tbh, she can have the other while it's been sorted.

It all depends where you are going to use it, if you are not sleeping near it (in the same room) then it shouldn't be a problem.

As for getting the panel part number, try holding the M button first for about a second and then press and hold the + button. You may get some other things come up, I get what you are saying though it's not easy to get up. I just kept pressing them together until it came up. You'll soon know when you have it up, it's a red box with a model number, date (production date maybe?) and a few options like Exit.

Added you to MSN mate.

Still cant get the blasted menu on :|

So your saying that its a problem with regard to this sound? Where else did your read about it being well known?
