Hi there
Its £226.67 now! (Weekend ONLY, special price ends Monday morning)
Who thinks 234.99 forum members should put in a £1 each and buy gibbo one for xmas for getting us such good deals ? hehe
*on phone at Q position 1 to OCUK,lol
Cheers gibbo I just got refunded
Is that price going to stay like that now until Monday morning Gibbo?
Will this monitor be ok with lower resolutions? like for example if you are using 1280x720 thru it, will it make the whole thing go full screen? (I really. really. really. hate letter box images and stuff).
REallllyyyy am torn on either this to replace one of my 20" monitors (I have 2) or getting a HDTV (32" one from OCUK) really not sure what to do
Gibbo, cant you use a PS3 or something connected to the monitor to test it for us? its probably a lot of effort but would ease a lot of fears...
I've been doing some investigating and found these details:
Manufacturer: Yuraku
Model: YV24WBH1 (MB24W)
HDCP: Yes, according to this site: http://lcd24.asp2.cz/Monitor/Yuraku/Yur.Vision-YV24WBH1/Default.aspx
PDF Specs: http://www.yuraku.de/downloads/YV24WBH1%20specs.pdf
The response time states 8ms so it's probably a diffrent panel, but the HDCP info looks promising.
Could anyone take pictures and post dimensions of the monitor? Thats the only thing holding me back....
Gibbo, may be worth changing it to say "VA" panel as opposed to "PVA" as I gather you are trying to confirm which type of Vertical Alignment (VA) panel it is being used here....either PVA (Samsung's technology, also extended to S-PVA), or MVA (from the likes of AU Optronics and CMO etc - also extended to P-MVA and S-MVA.....
anyway, complicating things now, but from what i gather, DGM have said they do use a VA panel, and your images certainly suggest this too Just whether it's a Samsung S-PVA (as in Dell 2407WFP etc) or MVA from someone else, probably AUO P-MVA (as in BenQ FP241W) if it was
Is it damaged ?
Ordered about an hour ago, had to go to the hell that is the town centre to pay the money in... it had better be good
That is my guess based on the specs. It is clearly VA of some sort, just thought it was worth changing this in the listed spec to avoid any confusion if it is S-PVA or P-MVA....either way is good and at the end of the day, as long as it performs well it doesn't matter! If DGM mentioned AUO, good chance it's their panel a la BenQ FP241W
I've seen enough
How long is the offer on for & do you have plenty of units?
Will be ordering on pay day along with a 3870 or 8800 (30th nov)
Your warehouse must be huge to hold all this stock.
LOL. I had this discussion with someone a few days ago. A conclusion was not reached.
The Distance Selling Regulations state that you have 7 days to recieve and inspect the item. It DOES NOT state that you can open up the item, use it for all its worth, then on the 6th day, send the item back. As you may imagine, this policy would become open to some serious abuse if it were the case that you could use and abuse the item for 6 days before returning it.
The item should be returned in resaleable condition, unopened and in the original packaging so that it may be resold to another customer. If you decide to open up the item and use it, you may be charged a re-stocking fee. This allows the seller to sell the item as a B-Grade product, at a reduced price and still not make a loss on the item.
I must stipulate though, that some shops, in the name of customer service, will allow you to return an item that has been used, ie. they offer the 'try before you commit to buying the item' policy.
The question is, what is OCUK's stance on this?
Gibbo,
I want to order the following graphics card along with this monitor:
EVGA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB Superclocked "Crysis Edition" GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (512-P2-E802-AR-CrysisUK)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-041-EA
I've heard it has been delayed a number of times coming into stock and these problems could continue. If another card comes into stock that I want, will I be able to amend my order and keep the low price on this monitor?
I have a quick question about the VGA and DVI inputs, can you hook up two devices and switch between them? For example I have my PC which I would hook up via DVI and an Xbox 360 which I would hook up by VGA.
Also what resolutions does it support, can it display 1360x768 (WXGA).
Was going to buy myself one for my birthday in Jan as my 17" videoseven I bought back in September 2005 from OcUK has a very bad problem of image persistance at the top where window bars are, it seems to be getting worse over time. This one looks great and should be a nice upgrade.
Gibbo, I'm going down to the shop on Monday morning to buy the parts for my new rig, what's the chances of me getting this monitor at the this price and will i be able to pick up an 8800GT while i'm there?
Also can someone comment and possibly show pictures of this monitor gaming at 1680 x 1050, Does it look as good as a 1680 x 1050 TFT would? It seems to be the only question that's not been answered yet!
