Hi there,

i have one question, is this one (link below) the same as from OC???? The Data Sheet seems like it would be the same Monitor, but on the picture it seems that it would not.

I hope that you guys can help me.

Hi there

It could use any panel and could therefor be the same as the model we sell or different.

When I spoke to DGM they said they do use upto 3 different panels and other similar models could use a different panel again.

Thats why OcUK took all the DGM stock they had as they guaranteed us they were all of the same batch with same panel, hence why we have plenty in stock as we did not want to risk getting none VA panels or an inferior one so were now stocked up heavily on these so we can ensure that OcUK customers get a good quality panel. :)

Oh god, I've had my eyes on a HP w2408h but now OcUK are doing this for £211 (£195ish with the 7.5% discount I've still got to use) I'm really confused! That's an £100 difference on the HP.

I'm just a bit worried that quite a few people recently seem to be having problems with lines of pixels?

Hi there

The reason quite a few people seem to be having issues is because were currently shipping 50+ a day of this 24" panel, thats huge turnover and a lot more than any other 24" model we sell.

Plus DGM / OcUK warranty support on these panels is excellent, anyone who has had issues has had product exchanged for new in very short amount of time. :)

Have just contacted OCUK re. RMA-ing mine, as I've had it more than 28 days I was told it maybe quicker to contact DGM support direct, I haven't registered it with them as numerous attempts to register via DGM website failed (quite possibly the worst support site I've ever visited ) so will be interesting to see how it goes, need a quick turnarround as have mates round all next weekend for a gamers weekend :D

HI there

If you have any issues with DGM, re-contact our support and say you want to send it back here and need a replacement ASAP, if any issues just tell them Gibbo has approved for you to send back to us and that we will have it turned around within 48 hours.

Hi there

It would appear some of our stock was contanimated with about 50 units or so of none PVA type panels.

All the models are now labelled L2442WD however as we've discovered from people RMA'ing items back we've been shipped about 50 units that are actually TN based with a glossy screen.

All of this incorrect stock has now been removed and will be setup under a new product code and sold off cheaply in our clearance/sale section for around £160+VAT, still a bargain for a 24" panel with DVI.

The way to tell them apart easily is the fact the VA panels are more of a matt finish screen and have excellent viewing angles. The TN version has a glossy screen and much poor vertical viewing angles.

DGM have apologised greatly for this to both ourselves and to pass it onto our customers, they are ensuring that OcUK stock will not become contanimated again and that all OcUK orders will only recieve VA type panels from now on.

So if you feel you have TN type panel, very easy to tell due to glossy screen and poor vertical viewing angles just call our tech team for an RMA as they are aware of the problem now and will issue you an RMA immediately and cover your shipping the product back to us and ourselves sending you the new product out.

Once again sorry, but we've now sold over 3000 of these units and this is the first time we've had this issue and DGM assure me they won't let it happen again as its only OcUK they ship VA type panels too now because were there only customer who request that particular panel and our demand is more than enough for what they can produce. :)

HI there

Just to repeat and confirm we have removed all the shiny/glossy TN based versions from stock and set them up under a new TN based model in our sales/clearance section, they are all new just opened boxes or ones returned unwanted from customers who ordered the VA panel version.

We are now 99.9% sure we have removed all the contanimated stock but as said if anyone gets a TN version we will get a VA version to you and cover the cost.

The 24" DGM is such a great panel that I have one on my work desk, its a huge improvement over the 226BW I was using, mainly because I need the viewing angles for the graphics work I do from time to time and really need a 1920x1200 desktop resolution to work with.

Here are the two monitors side by side, the pics are flattering really as its a lot worse to look at. Is this worthy of RMA though or will they test that monitor works and just charge me to send the same one back?

Also, doesnt anyone have a rough idea how much i will have to fork out to send it back and if i just do it at post office or need to sort something like city link out? Never RMA'd anything before.

HI m8

Can you email me at [email protected]

I will give you the email address and mobile number where you can get your monitor swapped out for a PVA model at ZERO cost to yourself. Same goes for any other customer too.

We believe we are now on top of all this mess, all our stock went back yesterday due to a high infection of TN panels, new stock arrived today that has been pre-checked by our supplier to confirm to the matt-PVA panel specs, they are now making sure we only get PVA panels and are putting them in a quarantined area in there warehouse to make sure thats what we get. As OcUK was first to request that panel type and as such OcUK is getting that stock.

We just had a replacement stock in today and we have spot checked 10 panels and they are all PVA/MVA panels with very good viewing angles just like the one on my desk. :)

Ordering one of these tonight when im home from college... Can anyone tell me what ill need to check for to check ive gotten the right pannel? Im a big monitor nub ya see, so ive no idea how to check that i will have the right pannel with full viewing angles. Was going to get a Yuraku monitor, but i cant find anywhere in stock that will deliver tomorrow morning, as thats the only time i will be able to take delivery of it for weeks. Just hope i dont get the buzzing or any other problems that've been reported commonly in this thread.

Thanks in advance for any help.

HI there

Our stock is now all PVA based panels as the manufacturer is making sure thats what we get as they don't want to upset our customers and as such our stock is PVA. We've also spot checked our stock ourselves too and they have all been PVA panels. :)

I am still using one on my desk which gets heavy use and its still functioning fine and is very impressive.

Thats fantastic. Thanks very much for the fast reply. Any info on the screen buzzing ive heard about?

Hi there

There is no buzzing coming from the one I am using or buzzing from others in the company. I'd imagine if one buzzes it must be a fault or poor power connection.

As with anything, well you sell greater numbers you will hear bad things because people will tend to post about problems more so than posting when something works as it should.

If we only sold 50-100pc a week of this monitor then all would be quiet but as were shifting 250+ on a quiet week in percentage terms you get more back. Simple maths if you have a 3% failure rate on a product and sell 100 you will get three back and three possible people complaining. If you sell 1000 units then you will get 30 back and possible of 30 people complaining so then on a forum this can look rather bad, then add the fact that Digimate shipped us TN panel version some weeks ago it has caused problems with the reputation of this monitor.

However now all our stock is PVA and sales are beginning to accelerate again as word gets around, plus OcUK guarantee PVA panel as well. :)

Hi sunama,

yea i looked for bledding problems, i could not see any such problem as far as my knowledge lol. thats y i posed a picture to see if anyone anyone has different opinion.

also i think, when you referer to these monitor being not identical is coz they use a variaety of panels Prem-MVA, A-MVA, S-PVA. With mva and pva being slightly different technologies, i would expect difference colour production, but i am sure people with A-MVA panels can do with the same setting, specially if they used a hardware calibration tool such as Spider3Pro.

Thanks.

HI there

All OcUK can guarantee is that all our stock are now VA panels which are superior too TN panels. However can't guarantee any particular type of VA panel as thats just not possible sorry.

HI there

Can I please make it clear to forum users the rules:-
OcUK FAQ & Forum Rules (READ ME)
No posting OcUK order or returns queries
The forums are not to be used for the posting of existing order or returns (RMA) queries. These can often involve delicate issues such as failed credit card authorisation and are best dealt with privately. You can view our Returns Policy here. You can use OcUK's new Webnote system to contact us about order and return queries.

Please be aware that posting complaints about OcUK or their staff, will result in your forums account being suspended. If you persistantly post complaints, then you will be banned.

This rule is in place for this exact reason because people in this thread have complained on our forums about a manufacturer in regards to RMA support. Unfortunately staff do not always have the time to monitor threads which has happened in this case as I have not seen the post here and as such customers have recieved bad support from DGM.

This is why the rules state not to use these boards for order or RMA queries but to instead call or send us a webnote. As then any issues can be dealt with promptly.

These rules are in place to provide better service because unfortunately OcUK staff did not spot this thread and due to customers venting their fustration on the forum where its gone un-noticed we have not been able to act like we could have done if we had recieved a webnote or phone call.

Please in future call us or send us a webnote as we take lack of support from manufacturers seriously and we will intervene to please the customer and then deal with the manufacturer appropiately to get the level of support needed.

well done guys. its a disappointment to see so many with problems when the monitors offered so much bang for buck. if they can get these issues under control, then they really would be the best monitors out there.

Hi there

I think its a typical case as Rupert described, sell 1000's of a products you get more returns.

As it turns out it would appear there is 3-5 customers having real difficulty with DJM and we are now intervening.

We just ask forum members to remember, if you have a problem to call OcUK or send us a webnote, posting on the forums is not the right cause of action because this is case in point, your complaints were not spotted and so no action was taken, wheras a phone call would have seen immediate action.

This is really good news and would just like to thank you all for coming to our rescue especially Yewen (Tom). I must have been out when you rang so ill give you a ring tomorrow when your open :)

However i would like to make a comment about a few things said especially on this last page (especially as we have a few OCuk staff etc reading this thread now....... and it is just a comment for your own notes nothing more.

You all have mentioned how you don't want any of us to leave feedback/complaints/problems etc on these forums and would prefer if we Telephoned/Webnote you instead which is fair enough and can understand your reasoning. However i think you all need to understand that i personally (can't speak for others) had been contacting yourselves via phone a number of times while this has all been going on... (nearly 6 weeks).
The first sign of help was when Yewen kindly started to get involved via this thread. So i would have loved nothing more than to have not brought my problem to the forums but it was a last ditch attempt for help really.

Hi there

Sorry to hear that and I will make sure Rupert knows about this so he can take necessary action.
