*Batman: Arkham Asylum*

A few questions for those that have completed the story...

POSSIBLE SPOILER BELOW;

I'm at the botanical gardens now, have i got much further to go? The main menu screen said about 38% complete but does that include the riddles/upgrades etc, or just the main story?

Only reason I ask, is i doubt I'll want to go through it all again just for the riddles etc, so want to get 100% first time through

You can get all of the riddles and stuff after you've completed the story. I 100%ed the collectables, riddles, etc last night. Didn't take long. I'm still not 100%, though, because the Challenge Mode counts towards the percentage as well.

Finished the story the other day, loved every minute of it! Best game i've played this year.
I'm at 89% overall, these challenges are rather difficult. Especially the extreme ones!

Just finished this on hard, after getting right to the end and my save going corrupt! Anyway loved every minute of it, Game of the year by far in my opinion at the moment. Just need to mop up the remaining 40 riddles and then onto challenge mode! :D

Due to a royal balls up I've only just got my CE today

Glad to hear the early opinions are all good though even if I am jealous that I'm only about to start it up for the first time now :(

Anyway pics for the grand opening (as I cant see that anyone else has posted anything re the CE)...

Just waiting for 3.0 to install then I'm going to have my first go :)

Finished the story on normal last night and I'm about 70% ish completed. Just need to find the last few collectibles, finish the challenge maps and complete it on hard. It'll only be the second or third game I'm happy to play through again to try and get 1000/1000 points.

Wont you need three batrangs on all the challenge maps to get 1000/1000? I wont be getting it, I appear to be rather rubbish at them normally struggling to get one batrang :(

Aye, gonna be tough to get but should be worth it if I can though.

My mate bought the CE and i couldn't help but laugh at the batterang. What a cheap piece of crap it is.

Glad i didn't buy it.

Indeed, I went into *insert generic shop* and saw the CE. I thought sod it I will get it. Took the box to the counter. The guy looked at me and said are you sure.... to which I thought wtf ?!?! he then proceeded to say are you sure you want the CE.

I responded why are you asking me that surely your meant to try and sell me it not make me not buy it. He then whipped out ths batrang and said are you sure.. I mean just look at it. He then hands me the model. I say meh well its not great.... he then told me to turn it around. To then find it had been GLUED to the stand. I mean really badly glued... He then took it back and said are you sure !!?

:D

My response was "you just lost yourself a sale gimme the normal version please" :)

Nice guy, I wish more stores had honest sales people.

Right.... I shouldnt but want to get a new game, with RE5 and FC2 to still play, weather is getting dull again so will be in most eve's to play the 360...

I didn't mind the demo, the fighting seemed a bit repetitive.... Is this the case? Also, is it all based inside? As I hate games that are linear line that forcing you down one corridor at any given time...

Cheers, ags

When I complete this, can I replay the game on a high difficulty with the upgrades I got from my first play though or does it have to be a fresh start?

Have to agree with everyone before me in saying that this really is the best game of the year so far (I knew it would anyway)

Really didn't want to go to bed last night it was so good

Bought this yesterday and had a quick go last night, am really enjoying it, the camera angle behind Batman is weird but I guess you get used to it.

You're based on an Island which is seperated into three parts esentially. North Arkham, East and West. There are outdoor parts as there are multiple outdoor buildings. The corridors in which you refer to are kinda linear as when you work out the story as you go along you need to be in one place at a time. But instead of just walking through the main door, you do have to find alternate entrances and stuff.

The fighting isn't repetative that I found. It's quite fun when a mob of 10-20 confront you and you stand there countering and performing combos, instant takedowns, throwing. You also get the stealth aspect, corner takedowns, ledge take downs, silent take downs, vertical take downs etc.

It certainly isn't repetative and isn't really linear. It's worth a buy; Story lasts for around 12 hours I reckon if you look for the riddles along the way (249 riddles I think...). You then have challenges to do, you unlock character details and interview tapes too.

As for the other question, I don't believe when you start a new game, that your character has all the upgrades already. As I believe you have to create a new saved game.
