Batman: Arkham Asylum

Geez i get around to finishing this soon as i just got HALO 3 ODST through the door this morning...ive got to about 47% so far but im taking my time making sure i find every trophy, chattering teeth, riddles and the arkham slates.

Still loving the game...one of the very few games this year that ive enjoyed immensely.

A quality game that was well received... and people are surprised. One always hopes that thigns like this might teach the distributors/developers that a quality game will sell, and a rubbish one will be pirated.

Am glad it's doing well, and I look forward to either a sequel, or a game of similar quality following another superhero

How hard are some the the challenges :eek:

I'm aiming for 100% completion, currently at 85%, think this last 15% is going to be tricky!

I'm at 97% and just need the three medals from the extreme combat challenges. I'm never gonna be able to do them though lol. I've only scraped through the bloody normal challenges by a few hundred points!!

I play the PC version and unfortunately there are people glitching or cheating at the top of the leaderboards. The highest I've seen for a combat challenge is 9 billion odd and I can't get 30,000!

thats just stupid, there are always idiots who spoil it for others, one reason why I left PC gaming 2-3 years ago

I managed after so so so many attempts to get 3 medals on the very first challenge, lol ... I'm now finding it hard to put combos together especially against the thugs with the knives and shock sticks, it just stops my combo dead

As you know, your combo runs out if you don't do something within a set amount of time of your last move but there are a few moves that aren't physical strikes that sort of count as a time extender if you will, i.e. evade jumps and cape stuns.

Make sure to cape stun knife foes and jump over the baton users. You probs won't be able to knock them out of the round instantly for being surrounded by other guys beating on you but just keep them down if needs be while you fight the rest and ALWAYS try to use your instant takedowns on knife/baton wielders.

Late summer blockbuster Batman: Arkham Asylum receives another dose of free DLC with the "Prey in the Darkness" map pack tomorrow on Xbox 360 and PS3. The "Heart of Darkness" map will have Bats battling baddies at the Arkham Pumping Station, while "Hothouse Prey" has the detective using his predator skills to silently dispose of henchmen in the conservatory (i.e., the Abandoned Glasshouse).

Remember to check out the free "Insane Night" map pack if you somehow missed it last week ... oh yeah, and don't forget to check out the game if you've somehow missed out on that, too.

Update 2: It appears that Europe will receive the DLC on both consoles, while North America will only have it on PS3. There is no word about when the pack will arrive on the North American Xbox Marketplace. Yeah ... we don't understand it either.

Update: Seems worth mentioning that the UK allegedly (and accidentally) has this up on the Xbox Marketplace already.

Anyone with it 360 can get it now (from UK).

Hopefully the guy who bought my PS3 copy will receive it tomorrow and can play the PS3 version, on my behalf.

Wooooohoooooooo! Finally got 3 bats on the first combat challenge

Think I might be in with a shot of hitting 100% yet

Oh and Freeflow Perfection too - epic 5000 point boost! Sod not getting hit, 7 - 9 moves in your combo is worth way more than the 500 for being punched

Just bought a 360 controller so I can play this on the pc. I hooked up my rig to my tv and this game looks amazing maxed out. Runs well too.

This game is giving me that same "awesome gaming experience" Deadspace gave me last year. Everything about the game seems really polished. Not 100% too keen on the way the characters look. They all look way too stocky.

Might just be my game of the year.
