*Batman: Arkham Asylum*

I'm stuck on the joker. I can kill the first wave and do the pull down. The 2nd wave I cant kill all the men to repeat. I get down to the last two and he chucks more men in?

Does this fight ever checkpoint?

No, I think it starts from scratch each time. Try pushing the men on your right, up against the electric fences to take them out quickly (You can usually batarang a few that join the fight straight into the fence), and make use of the exploding chattering teeth to get rid of other people.

nope, just counter, counter, counter. Then when the walking bomb sounds, dive. If he throws more men in it's because you aren't killing them quick enough I think.

Yeah I just got to the 3rd section of his life and got nailed by a gun right near the end. I have found that batclaw pulls three to the floor and then take out a straggler. When i have 3 left I batclaw put all 3 on the ground and finish them all off in one go.

Thats working well right up until the 3rd section where i dont have enough life left :( So I end up evading for too long and more men get added.

Gonna give it a break and try again later in the week.

Managed to finish it off last night...awesome awesome game...the last 2 fights were difficult ie the 2 titans but after about 3 goes i managed to get them beat...the joker fight at the end was a bugger but i managed to get him in the end...took me around 30 mins of trying different techniques to finally get him.

It is hard but with a bit of patience you can get the henchmen beat...i kept getting shot by the guy in the 3rd wave so i just bataranged him...ran over and finished him off then concentrated on the other guys...a lot of countering and critical strikes did the trick for me...luckily i got the batclaw into the joker at the right time and finished him off.

Now just have to find the rest of the riddles, trophies etc...problem being is that the first few levels i didnt bother with the trophies, riddles etc so now have to go back and find them all.

Honestly, the joker fight is easy even on hard - you should be losing virtually no life as you just combo round all the goons then pull the joker down - rinse and repeat.

He only adds more henchmen if you're taking too long to take them all out. Maybe do some freeflow challenges to work on your combat skills?

In fact I recommend that as it certainly made me better at combat.

Yeah the joker fight was easy. I thought the part where Joker is sitting at the top and you got those 2 henchman on titan with all those goons was a lot harder than the main fight. Found the fight against Poison Ivy was a bit tricky but that was because I was doing it wrong lol. Instead of running to dodge I was trying to jump out of the way all the time.

Definitely was.

A little tip for anyone, save the health upgrades for the harder fights. When you use them it refills your health so you can use up twice the amount of health if you have enough upgrades available :D

Once I worked out the batclaw I did it easy. Previously in the game I hadn't used it at all. Two batclaws and all the enemy are on the floor.

Ivy was the easiest boss in the game, I just spammed batarangs as I used evade.

I only have about 50 riddles to find from slowly playing the game through. Most of those I think will be in the earlier sections of the game.

I'm going to call it early, but I can see AA being my game of the year or the game of the year.

MW2 will no doubt sell the most and will likely get GOTY, but AA is 2009's Deadspace.

Yep as I said before, when you play a game like this or Dead Space you can see how hilarious it is that churned out games like MW get GOTY.

After you've done the main story can you go back and finish all the riddles etc? As it was just my intention to get the main story done quickly first.

Ended up (bat)caving in and buying this, should I run through on normal first before doing hard?

Still not got the Mano-a-mano achievement :(

1 bat short of Bronze on Combat challenges too :)

Mana-a-mano is easy, use the explosives on the floor trick on one of the combat challenges.

Kill all the thugs first, spray the exposives on the floor, stun him with the explosives then beat the snot out of him. Easy.

Just finished the story, good game, Story was a bit naff (just like most batman movies lol), but the voice acting was fantastic. Pretty sure they will do another batman game, TBH he's the only super hero i feel actually works well in games. Thought the combat was good but not great, some of the animations were great for the combat, but it seemed a bit autopilot ie you didnt actually do anything different to pull of some of the awesome finishers. Liked the various ways to solve the arena battles as such, by using your various toys kept it all pretty fresh, and gave you loads of options when clearing rooms. Wasnt a great fan of some of the boss fights, thought the joker one at the end wasnt great and once you realised you could just run/roll around him and plant proximity explosive near the Electric fences it was easy. I hope it does get nominated up there for GOTY though, the devs deserve it, actually making a good super hero game isnt easy. I wish they had some DLC that flashes up "POW" and " Bang" like in the old TV show that would a definte purchase lol.
