*Batman: Arkham Asylum*

riddles aren't worthless, get you experience and unlock challenges. Also if you plan on doing them all might as well do some as you go :)

Sounds about right for the combat, key is not getting hit (duh) a combination of countering and dodging (double tap A plus a direction, preferably over a enemies head as it keeps your combo going)

Hit my first hard bit, In the mansion where you are looking for papers and a whole gang of thugs are below. I couldn't take them out in combat after multiple reloads. There was just too many of them to get a ground pound in without getting hit :(

In the end the only way I could clear that section was to stay up high. Glide takedown and evade until I could RB upto height again and rinse and repeat until only a couple where left.

With those skills in mind I don't think I will bother with the combat challenges when I finish the game:D

Completed this game yesterday, must say it is a fantastic game and haven't enjoyed a game like that in a long time. Really had lots of fun playing it.

Might try to solve all the riddles and challenges now, didn't really bother with them when I played.

Finished Hard now but still can't get more than 15k on the first combat challenge :( Averaging about 11.5k as well so that was a huge run of luck that including a 20 x combo ground pound :D

Predator challenges - well for the first 3 I'm top of my friends list by quite some margin if I'm not mistaken :D 1 minute for the normal 'Silent Knight' :D

As said many times over in this thread a truly epic game! I haven't been able put it down for the past few days lol. Without a doubt elements of Metal Gear Solid are in this game. Really love the silent take downs and gadgets, and I cant fault the controls for the ps3.

Awesome game, loved every minute of it; I am however rather miffed at the fact you can't use the armored batsuit in story mode. I was looking forward to that!

anyone got the 'batman cave' on Playstation Home working... I ask as I logged into Home last night, and it mentioned a batman cave...

Where is that? How do I use it, what is it actually...?? don't use home that much.

Completed the game over the weekend, absolutely fantastic :D

Think I was at 74%, so will finish off the game this weekend coming :D

Tried some of the challenges as well, tough! lol

I finally managed to get freeflow perfection and a 40 hit combo this morning, took me many attempts at both, kept mucking it up right at the end of getting both so was just getting incredibly angry :p

Now just to finish the challenges!

It is a "personal" space, just like the Apartment you have in Home. So you can decorate it and invite people to it. It should be in your personal spaces menu if you have already seen the alert that says you have unlocked it.

God I hate the boss fights when they let in a bunch or waves of thugs as well as the boss. That single titan fight was a bitch.

Not a huge fan of the combat, I like the stealth sections a lot, but the sections with loads of bad guys I end up mashing A and bouncing around like spiderman until I get a shot or two in then spam A again. I'd rather they had a more finite energy than trying to get an opening in to RT/Y or they get up again. I know they eventually go down but it's a bit long winded. Mind you I'm on hard and it probably would have been better to go through on normal first.

The Croc was awesome.

When you play a SP game like this or Dead space you can see how tired gaming has gotten with same old COD/Halo churned out every 2 years.

Batman, Dead Space, The Darkness and even though I wasn't a big fan, Bioshock perfectly capture the enviroment and atmosphere correctly.

A few levels to go to finish this, which I hope to do next week. Either this or Dead Space is the best game I've played this gen (SP).

Played the demo last night but didn't really know what to make of it. The visuals were stunning and I quite like the combat system, however I don't know if the gameplay its self would get somewhat stale after a couple of hours.

It's a choose between this or Halo 3 ODST...

Finally got all the riddler stuff and the spirit of Arkham, just need to attempt the challenge maps which I utterly suck at for some reason and redo the game on hard to get the last few achievements.

I tried the demo and had the same reservations about it getting stale. Took the chance in the end anyway and I am very glad I did. It really is a fun polished game.

And it's not like you are constantly entering room, clearing bad guys, move to next room, clear more bad guys. That is the impression I got from the demo and was glad to find it wasn't as simplistic as that.

The demo actually put me off a little but the game itself is just great :)
