*Batman: Arkham Asylum*

I really enjoyed the Bane entrance, but less so his actual fight and end. At the moment it is hard to do a lot in one go. It's like that with a lot of games for me. Other than that it is great so far.

Yeah the Bane cutscene is outstanding. Found the fight itself very frustrating first time through but when I played it on hard it was a walkover, just getting to know the method I guess.

It wasn't that it was hard. I knew what to do, and yes I did die quite a lot, it was just a boring fight and a uninteresting end.

Hi all,

Can someone answer these questions for me:

If you start the game on Medium mode does this unlock the achievement for easy mode too?

If you complete the game in Medium mode do you keep all your weapons for hard mode?

Is it possible to roam the game after you have completed it in any mode?
I’ve been playing the game for a while at my girlfriends’ house but i’ve taken it home now and going through it again from the start

Just completed it on Medium. Brilliant game, couldn't put it down.

Now to 100% it and do the challenges. Combat modes seems hard - variation seems to be the key to getting points, I found a list (PS3 version)

Freeflow Perfection: Perform a perfect combo including all of Batman's combat moves (any play mode)
[ ] - Strike
/\ - Counter
O - Cape Stun
X X (double-tap) - Evade
L1 - Combo-Batarang (Related: a skill will make this more powerful, highly recommended)
R2 R2 (double-tap)- Combo-Batclaw
R2 + /\ - Ground Takedown
/\ + O - Special Takedown (Unlocked skill, requires combo of 5x or 8x)
[ ] + X - Throw (Unlocked skill, requires combo of 5x or 8x)

The predator challenges seem easier?

There are 1 or 2 challenges that will trouble you, purely until you discover a good path or sequence.

The combat challenges on the other hand.. they will test you a lot more.

The secret is to build a decent combo (20+), use the Instant takedown on any knife or stun baton guys and whenever possible use the ground and pound. I can't stress the use of the ground and pound enough.

If you have a long combo, adding a ground and pound at the end will add a x1000 times multiplier. Also, it's MUCH quicker to finish the guys using a ground and pound than to continuously punch and kick them.. something that becomes essential on Shock and Awe (Extreme)*

*Probably the hardest challenge IMO.

Playing this on hard and the Party Pooper achievement has completely ruined the game for me now. Managed to get to this bit after 11 hours and I've spent nearly the same amount of time doing this bit over and over again. Just want to finish it now because I'm bored ****less with it :(

It was a challenge, but certainly no worse than some of the fight challenge modes. Just use your full arsenal to your advantage - Batclaw, Batarang, while being sure to dodge when you are too surrounded, to avoiud using ground pund while there are lots of enemies.

Another suggestion is to lay down some explosive gel near some of them and start the fight by setting it off - it'll knock some down giving you a chance to start on others.

The bit where you have to kill the 20 or so people waiting in the room? Just punch, jump, punch, jump and it is easy. If you have done some of the combat challenges (or do them now) you may find this bit much easier as it gets your practice up on combos, evading etc.
