Batman Arkham City - Thread

Yeah it's still a bit of a mess. I am not to fussed but I did want to play this when it first came out, hence why I pre-ordered the disc version (I like boxed games) So that is the only thing I am miffed at, I could now buy it a lot cheaper then I did seeing as it is not really worth playing right now with the save game issues and dx11 is a mess still. DX9 works awesome though, but the save game issues are holding me back still.

Finally us PC users will get the patch this week. Console users still have to wait for more testing:

"Hi all,

I have been in meetings all morning hence the silence.

The great news is that the patch is now being uploaded to our digital partners servers, this process may take a day or 2. However it means that the PC patch will be avaliable for you to download this week.

We would like to thank you for your incredible support and patience. We are planning the full news release which will include the fixes, to hit in the following days.

Thanks
SarahMay"

WOW!

I thought they had just abandoned the game and given up trying to figure what was wrong with it in the end :p I will laugh though if the issues still aren't fixed! :p

It fixed the CTDing for anyone like me using Hyperthreading on more than 4 cores ;)

Well that is not even in the last patch list so that was just luck, it was meant to fix DX11 and these issues:

• Performance / hitching issues have been greatly improved for running in DX 11.
• An issue with players running out of Video Memory or encountering a Rendering Thread Exceptions has been addressed. This was primarily affecting 32-bit Operating Systems.
• A progression block after defeating Ra’s Al Ghul has been fixed. This was an issue that occurred primarily on lower end computer setups and is described as Batman not readying his Reverse Batarang.
• A crash that occurred when scrolling between the Character Bios and Arkham City Stories has been fixed.
• A crash that occurred when selecting “Press Start” immediately when available at the Title Screen has been fixed. The issue was described as crashing/hard locking around the DLC (Downloadable Content) check.

Unless the above is related to more then 4 cores.

Cool, I am only about an hour into this game as I ended up playing Skyrim and TW2 instead... Might give it another bash if it's been patched.

Great timing on the patch as I just bought the game yesterday. Haven't played it yet as I'm having activation issues. Have had to email WB to get a solution.

Whee, maybe they actually managed to fix the disappearing save files issue and I can finally start the game I bought some five months ago. Well, start again as I lost my previous save files to the bug mid-way through the game. Great game but I wish it was released in a playable state in the first place.

Only the Steam version had save file issues the Origin, GFWL only versions work just fine in DX9 since day 1!
