Batman: Arkham Shadow (META QUEST 3 only)

Challenge mode! Challenge mode! Challenge mode!

Wooohooo!

There's dodges, head movement to dodge, counters, cape stun, batarang, explosive gel, specials, ground beatdowns, flips over the opponents!

I spent a long time just enjoying building my combo in previous arkham games, I can't wait to play this.

I'd love to get excited about this game because it looks like it has some good ingredients, I'm just not a Batman fan in the slightest not seen any of the movies etc. I bought Assassins Creed and although the game was ok I felt no connection to it, I'm not into the flatscreen AC games.

The films aren't why I'm excited about this in the slightest. The lore isn't the reason either. The lore and the style however come from a series of games, the Arkham series. The best part of which was the combat in my opinion (both regular and stealth).

Arkham asylum was an amazing game, and Arkham Shadow looks like it may have pulled off a genuine feel of the Arkham combat flow in vr, which personally I didn't think was possible.

The Arkham Batman games are amazingly atmospheric. They're good games in their own right, even without all the lore. That's just icing on the cake.

I didn't think the Assassin's Creed game was much good really. They did well to get it on Quest 2 & 3 but it really didn't play to the strengths of the Quest 3, and I didn't find it that engaging.

The last game I played which I thought really captured the original 2D game, but also worked well for VR and did the Quest justice was RE4 VR. Ok it was a conversion of an existing game but it looked and played phenomenally well on the Quest 2/Pro. I have hopes this Batman game will do the same on Q3, but with the added bonus of it being a new story and game rather than just a straight conversion.

I'll see what the reviews say, I'm not saying I'd have to be into the lore to enjoy a game but for me it does help. I really enjoyed FO4 because of the atmosphere & settings whereas Skyrim I wasn't into really because of the setting and characters. Really enjoyed GTA 5 in vr for same reasons I enjoyed FO4. At $49.99 I'd want to really enjoy it. I haven't played Asgards Wrath 2 because a game with Gods and or Norse/Greek mythology or something doesn't appeal. I know I'm really limiting myself with this approach, I guess in vr I want to be in a world I myself would like to experience.

Just bought it it's installing now, I know I was moaning about not being into Batman but I was being short sighted who cares if I'm not a fan if the game is good then it's good, early reviews by normal users on Reddit are v positive. I've just sent a load of you referral codes via the Meta app I sent it to all who I have on my friends list. Edit : just been playing it it's pretty good.

Appears to be only 770mb or so. Seems low for such a game. Does it possibly stream required content? The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution for example is 12gb+

Supposed to be 20gb I believe. There was a pre-load thing that some people downloaded before the main game. Maybe it's enough to get you started whilst the rest keeps downloading?
