Battalion 1944 (ww2 game )

So glad realism is nowhere to be seen. There have been a fair few ww2 shooters recently but they have been bogged down by a desire to be realistic.

I think Gimpymoo is referring to Multiplay Game Servers rather than 'Multiplayer'.

Multiplay Game Servers are rubbish. :D

They were crap, crashing twice a day and CS would take days to reply. Gaming deluxe were much better with CS. Then we moved to i3d after the bf4 release who were solid as they provided servers for hosting websites and other businessy things.

Good, basic is what we are all screaming for.

No levelling, unlocks, XP points, crafting, looting or any other nonsense. Just give me everything the game has to offer from minute one and let my skill (or lack of) determine how good I am, not the ability to call in an orbital space destroyer because I've sunk my entire existence into it and unlocked it with 1 billion XP points or £50.

Think from his comments that's way over his head.

As to the game looks brilliant back to the basics ;)

No unlock ********, no getting a super nuke for killing 15 players. Just down to player skill and knowledge of the maps. That's all good by me.

lols, yea if they can manage that then I will definitely be interested.

Hardly any budget for a single player game as well though is there. While I'd love to see one as well surely the expectation needs to set against the size and scope of the project.

As others have pointed out, I did not say "Multiplayer" :P

Locking down dedis is not a smart move in my opinion.

E.A and Activision have done the same thing in the past and it stinks.

If you own your own dedi, you have MORE outlay to host their game.

This has the potential to reduce the server choice after the initial launch window.

Seems on "odd" move for a "smart" dev. I can only conclude they are not that smart if this is what it appears.

Reliable Server Hosting with Multiplay. Battalion is teaming up with Multiplay to bring players the most reliable and highest quality in game servers. Alongside our official servers, players will have the ability to host and change server rule sets to suit their own gaming needs. Server admins will be able to choose to have BattleRanked, unranked, or private game servers.

Those are BASIC features one expects to admin a server yet they list them as features.

Interesting ideas, good luck to the guys trying to get it all together.

Will be waiting until the full release parting with any money.

Wow, lot of Call of Duty 2 love in here.

I preferred the original (more United Offensive) myself. Hopefully they have big maps and could add vehicles in the future.

I liked Treyarch's version of COD because they included vehicles and weren't massively OP but were a mere distraction. I know WAW had tanks in some maps but weren't there 2 seater mopeds & tanks in Road to Victory?

Nope think my point got taken a bit out of context, I meant basic as in not enough on show yet for me to be sure about backing it.

It's the same reason I didn't back squad until I saw how much the devs were putting into it, hopefully this goes the same way.

I'm not bothered about levelling up or unlocking stuff either, love RO2 because of that.

.

Yeah sorry, misread :D
Locking down dedicateds isn't a smart move and I'd expect its something that will be removed fairly quickly.

Morning Soldiers!
We’ve been totally overwhelmed by your response to the Kickstarter campaign. We knew this is something we wanted to make but to have the love for the WW2 shooter genre validated by so many people in such a short amount of time is incredible. At the time of writing we’ve gained £81,442 of our £100,000 goal in under 48hrs with 2,806 backers. This is insane. Whilst large AAA developers are so focused on the monetization of extremely large scale shooters, it’s great to see that a tight, gritty and focused shooter like Battalion 1944 can still capture the hearts of gamers worldwide. We’re finally going to be able to reinstate the essence of what makes multiplayer shooters great; the core gameplay.
With this outpouring of support, we’ve been actively reading as many messages as we possibly can, so please do understand if we’re slow with direct responses to each of you individually or don’t get back to you directly. We’re reading as many of the comments and feedback that we possibly can whilst still working on development. Because of this, we’re currently building an FAQ that will help deal with the repeat questions we’re receiving. We’ll be posting this FAQ in our forums.

Next up I would like to talk about our Steam Greenlight campaign!
Considering we haven’t even focused any marketing efforts towards the Steam Greenlight campaign (apart from a small link in our Day 1 update), we’re already the 20th most popular game currently on Steam Greenlight with 2,901 ‘Yes’ votes at the time of writing! We’re fully confident that we push Battalion 1944 through the Steam Greenlight system as we have before with our previous game, Pneuma: Breath of Life, under our previous company. We have had to go through the Greenlight process this time again due to the merger of our companies under Bulkhead Interactive, but we’re loving the opportunity to grow the passionate Battalion community and raise support for the development of Battalion 1944.

We’ve also been receiving lots of questions about stretch goals.
We’re working on it. We’re waiting until we’ve surpassed our initial funding goal before announcing them, so we’re not saying anything just yet. We’ve been listening to your feedback, so when we do announce our stretch goals in the coming weeks, I can assure you they’ll be awesome.

To all of you who are supporting us every day in our campaign to develop the next WW2 shooter that actually takes skill, thank you. We can see the love being spread across social media and it truly is special. Please keep spreading the word about Battalion 1944 to your friends and family so we can develop the WW2 shooter that this generation of games so desperately needs. More updates coming soon...

I am a simple man... I see boobs, i click like.... Much can be said about what i play, i see a game with not poxy perks and click buy!

Just hope they ad least at a medal and rank system, otherwise it'll just be a WW2 mod fo insurgency !
